Riot Games, the developer behind League of Legends, has recently announced a range of updates and changes coming to the game in the near future. In a recent Dev Update, Riot Brightmoon, Meddler, and Pupulasers provided some insights into what players can expect to see in the coming weeks and months.

New Skins and Skin Thematics

One of the most notable updates is the addition of new skins for Udyr, Shyvana, and Dr. Mundo. While there are no details yet on what these skins will look like, players can expect to see them soon. Additionally, two new skin thematics are in the works and will be released during MSI and mid-year respectively.

The developers are also aiming to bring the first batch of Wild Rift skins to League of Legends in July, though this date may change. The first batch will include Star Guardian Senna and Orianna, along with the previously announced Star Guardian Seraphine. Redeemed Star Guardian Xayah and Rakan are also set to arrive later this year.

Gameplay Changes

In terms of gameplay changes, Riot Games is testing out Quick Play as a replacement for Blind Pick in select regions. This new system will let players choose role and champion combinations when queuing, skipping the Champion Select process and getting players straight into the game.

Other changes coming to League of Legends include improvements to Daisy, Ivern’s ultimate ability, and the release of a dev blog covering Skarner’s VGU (Visual and Gameplay Update), which will include updates to his art, design, and narrative. Neeko’s mid-scope is also getting close, though the team ran into some technical challenges with her passive.

Technical Changes

The developers also announced that League of Legends will no longer be supported by 32-bit operating systems starting April 4th. This change will affect less than 0.01% of players globally, and those who are impacted will receive a message in the client starting from patch 13.6. Moving the game to a 64-bit operating system will allow Riot to improve features such as security, anti-cheat, and bot detection.

Finally, the Blue Essence Emporium will be making a return mid-year with tech improvements. This will give players another opportunity to spend their Blue Essence on a range of unique items.
