Many lives were lost, the facility was ruined and the aliens were unstoppable. All hope was lost until one survivor found the courage to fight back and put the aliens in their place!
It was a long and horrific battle as the survivor dueled with all manner of terrifying life-forms and alien mutations, but our hero won out in the end and destroyed the alien menace! Humanity was saved!
Unfortunately, the alien infestation and the heroic efforts of the courageous survivors have left rather a mess throughout the facility. As the janitor, it is your duty to get this place cleaned up.
So grab your mop and roll up your sleeves, this is gonna be one messy job.

Viscera Cleanup Detail è un gioco di simulazione in prima persona sviluppato e pubblicato da RuneStorm. È entrato in accesso anticipato su Steam il 4 aprile 2014 ed è stato rilasciato completamente il 23 ottobre 2015 per PC. La premessa capovolge il tipico gioco d'azione sci-fi.
Un evento catastrofico è avvenuto su una stazione spaziale. Un'invasione aliena, un'epidemia di zombie o qualche altro disastro ha avuto luogo, e l'eroe senza nome ha fatto il suo lavoro. La minaccia è scomparsa. Ora è il turno del giocatore. Come lavoratore della sanità della stazione spaziale, il compito è pulire ciò che è stato lasciato indietro: pulire il sangue, raccogliere parti di corpi sparse, raccogliere bossoli usati e smaltire tutto nei contenitori corretti prima di timbrare l'uscita.
La pulizia è completamente basata sulla fisica. Il mocio raccoglie il sangue ma può anche spargerlo se trascinato con disattenzione su superfici asciutte. I secchi si riempiono e devono essere svuotati regolarmente. Gli oggetti possono essere rovesciati, creando nuovi disordini. Le impronte tracciano il sangue sui pavimenti puliti se i giocatori non prestano attenzione a dove camminano. Il gioco premia la pazienza e il movimento attento, e punisce la disattenzione con più lavoro.
Più livelli coprono diversi scenari di disastro, ognuno con il proprio layout, pericoli e insieme di disordini da affrontare. Un sistema di firma delle note alla fine di ogni livello valuta la qualità della pulizia prima che il giocatore timbri l'uscita. Il gioco include un editor di livelli e pieno supporto per Steam Workshop per mappe create dalla comunità e scenari personalizzati.
