The complete PC experience

Co-op Mode:
In Co-op Mode, share your journey through the shifting labyrinth of Atropos with another PC player.(5) The hostile nature of Atropos will remain unwavering, but the possibility of teamwork adds a whole new dimension and means of survival. Each player controls a different version of Selene, from different cycles. Using the Chronosis device located in each biome, the host player summons a friend or is matched with another random online player. The progress of the host determines the available item pool for the duration of the multiplayer session.
Tower of Sisyphus:
Next time you wake at the crash site, look up. You should be able to see a gate towards the Tower of Sisyphus, accessible as long as you’ve unlocked the Icarian Grapnel.(5) In this Tower, prepare for a new kind of challenge. It’s a nearly endless ascending gauntlet with a pure focus on combat, how high you build up your score and progress, exclusive items, Scout logs and as-yet unseen fragments from Selene’s story.

Over Returnal
Returnal is een third-person shooter met roguelite en bullet hell elementen, ontwikkeld door Housemarque en uitgegeven door Sony Interactive Entertainment. Het werd oorspronkelijk uitgebracht voor PlayStation 5 op 30 april 2021. De PC versie, geport door Climax Studios, werd op 15 februari 2023 gelanceerd op Steam.
Het spel volgt Selene Vassos, een astronaut die neerstort op de alien planeet Atropos terwijl ze een mysterieuze signaal genaamd de Witte Schaduw volgt. Elke keer dat ze sterft, wordt ze wakker op dezelfde crashlocatie met haar uitrusting weg en de indeling van de planeet veranderd. Vooruitgang vereist dat je door zes verschillende biomen gaat, elk eindigend in een boss encounter, met wapens en middelen die elke run vers zijn.
De combat mengt third-person shooting met bullet hell mechanics. Vijanden schieten dichte patronen van projectielen, en Selene kan dashen, springen en een Atropian Blade gebruiken voor close-range aanvallen naast een groeiend arsenaal aan vuurwapens. Een Parasite systeem voegt een risico-beloning element toe, dat nuttige bonussen geeft naast negatieve effecten die aanhouden totdat ze verwijderd worden. Items en wapenkenmerken variëren tussen runs, wat de aanpak van spelers door hetzelfde gebied vormgeeft.
Tussen de alien combat door zijn er first-person sequenties binnen een bekend huis die het verhaal fragmenteren over meerdere runs. Het verhaal roept vragen op over Selene's verleden en de aard van de loop die het spel langzaam en uit volgorde beantwoordt.
De PC versie bevat alle post-launch content van de PS5 release: online co-op voor twee spelers, de Tower of Sisyphus eindeloze modus, de Suspend Cycle mid-run save functie, en Photo Mode.
