Teleport, or TP for short, in League of Legends, is a potent summoner spell that enables champions to rapidly traverse the map by channeling for a few seconds and then instantly blinking to a targeted location. This strategic ability can significantly impact gameplay, enabling players to respond to threats, join team fights, or return to lane quickly after recalling.

How to use Teleport in League of Legends?

To use Teleport, players must first select it as one of their summoner spells before the match begins. During the game, Teleport can be activated by pressing the assigned hotkey (typically "D" or "F") and then clicking on a valid target.

The spell has a channeling time of 4 seconds, during which the player's champion becomes stationary and vulnerable. Once the channel completes, the champion instantly appears at the target location.

It's important to note that Teleport transforms into Unleashed Teleport at the 10-minute mark, granting additional functionality. Unleashed Teleport allows players to target not only allied structures but also minions and wards, providing more flexibility in its usage.

When to use Teleport in LoL?

The key to effective Teleport usage lies in recognizing the right moments to impact the game globally while balancing the long cooldown of the spell. Teleport's versatility makes it useful in various situations:

1. Lane pressure: Top laners often use Teleport to quickly return to lane after recalling, minimizing lost experience and gold.

2. Objective control: TP can be used to join team fights around important objectives like Dragon or Baron Nashor.

3. Split pushing: Champions can push side lanes and then Teleport to join their team when needed.

4. Defensive plays: Players can use Teleport to defend turrets or assist teammates under pressure.

5. Ganking: With Unleashed Teleport, players can set up surprise attacks by teleporting to wards placed in strategic locations.

Can you stop Teleport in League?

Teleport can be interrupted during its channeling phase, and there are several effective methods to do so. Hard crowd control effects such as stuns, silences, or knockups are the most direct way to cancel a Teleport channel. Similarly, displacement abilities that move the teleporting champion, like knockbacks or pulls, will also interrupt the spell.

If the targeted structure, such as a turret, is destroyed during the channeling phase, the Teleport will automatically be canceled. While not directly stopping Teleport, denying the vision of potential targets can make it more challenging for enemies to use the spell effectively.

It's important to note that champions become invulnerable upon completing the Teleport channel, so timing is crucial when attempting to interrupt or punish a teleporting enemy. Players should remain vigilant and ready to react quickly to enemy Teleport attempts, as successful interruptions can significantly impact the game's flow and create advantageous situations for their team.
