Over CONTROL Resonant
CONTROL Resonant is ontwikkeld en uitgegeven door Remedy Entertainment en verscheen op 24 september 2026 voor pc via Steam en de Epic Games Store, naast PS5 en Xbox Series X|S. De macOS-versie volgt later in 2026. Het is Remedy's eerste grote release in zeven jaar, sinds de originele CONTROL. De serie slaat hiermee een duidelijkere weg in richting action-RPG. De studio voegt personagestats, meerdere talent trees en aanpasbare wapens toe, maar behoudt de verhaallijn en spectaculaire actie die de eerste game zo bijzonder maakten. Je speelt als Dylan Faden, die na jaren gevangenschap door het Federal Bureau of Control wordt vrijgelaten en midden in een bovennatuurlijke crisis in Manhattan belandt.
Nu FBC-directeur Jesse Faden, Dylans zus, vermist is, moet Dylan naar haar op zoek. Tegelijk ontdekt hij wat er met het Bureau en de wereld buiten het Oldest House is gebeurd. Ook worstelt hij met zijn identiteit en de buitengewone krachten die in hem ontwaken. De stad is veranderd in een geofysieke nachtmerrie door de corrumperende invloed van de Hiss, een invasief micro-organisme genaamd de Mold en een goddelijke kosmische entiteit die de basiswetten van de werkelijkheid verandert. De architectuur is vervormd, de zwaartekracht verschuift en in Gravity Anomalies gelden de normale regels voor oriëntatie niet meer. De combat draait om de Aberrant, een melee-wapen dat van vorm verandert: een hamer met twee handen voor zware klappen of twee snelle zwaarden voor vlugge aanvallen. Combineer die met elementaire vaardigheden en Dylans eigen paranormale krachten, die steeds sterker worden.
Dankzij een uitgebreid progressiesysteem bepaal je zelf hoe zijn vaardigheden zich ontwikkelen. Leid Dylan door uitgestrekte, unieke delen van de stad, vol side activities, verborgen encounters en optionele ontdekkingen. Zo groeit hij van voormalig proefpersoon uit tot een paranormaal superwapen.

Only 5 hours in, but I’m already sold. I’m a big fan of the original Control, so I honestly didn’t expect Remedy to make this many risky changes. Somehow, they pulled it off. The optimization is great, the sound design is excellent, the soundtrack is ridiculously well chosen, and the game is packed with creative ideas, funny dialogue and little details. Everything feels incredibly polished. It’s also one of those rare cases where the sequel actually surpasses the original and still manages to
