The sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök picks up with Fimbulwinter well underway. Kratos and Atreus must journey to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as Odin’s forces in Asgard prepare for a prophesied battle that will end the world.
Along the way, they will explore stunning, mythical landscapes, and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. As the threat of Ragnarök grows ever closer, Kratos and Atreus must choose between the safety of their family and the safety of the realms.
A FUTURE, UNWRITTEN Atreus seeks knowledge to help him understand the prophecy of “Loki” and establish his role in Ragnarök. Kratos must decide whether he will be chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or break free of his past to be the father Atreus needs.

Over God of War Ragnarök
God of War Ragnarök is een actie-avonturenspel ontwikkeld door Sony Santa Monica Studio en uitgegeven door PlayStation PC LLC. Het werd oorspronkelijk uitgebracht op PlayStation 4 en PlayStation 5 op 9 november 2022, met de PC-versie die op 19 september 2024 uitkomt, geport door Jetpack Interactive.
Het spel speelt zich een paar jaar na de gebeurtenissen van God of War (2018) af, met Fimbulwinter, de lange winter die voorafgaat aan Ragnarök, al in volle gang. Kratos en zijn zoon Atreus leven in het geheim, maar kunnen het conflict dat zich vanuit Asgard opbouwt niet vermijden. Odin en Thor komen dichterbij, en Freya, hun voormalige bondgenoot, jaagt op Kratos voor wat er met haar zoon is gebeurd. Om antwoorden te vinden over Atreus's rol in de Ragnarök-profetie en enige kans om de naderende apocalyps te stoppen, gaan de twee op pad door alle Negen Rijken van de Noorse mythologie.
De combat bouwt voort op het systeem van het spel uit 2018. Kratos vecht met de Leviathan Axe, de Blades of Chaos, en het Guardian Shield, met een aanzienlijk uitgebreid moveset voor zowel hem als Atreus. Ja. De Valhalla DLC is inbegrepen zonder extra kosten bij elke editie van God of War Ragnarök op PC. Het is een aparte roguelite uitbreiding die Kratos volgt door een nieuwe locatie met eigen mechanics en is volledig speelbaar na het installeren van de basisgame.
Het is sterk aanbevolen om eerst de game uit 2018 te spelen. Ragnarök is een directe voortzetting van het verhaal en gaat verder met dezelfde personages en onopgeloste verhaallijnen. Spelers die meteen in Ragnarök duiken, kunnen het verhaal en de relaties tussen de personages moeilijker te volgen vinden.
De pc-versie gebruikt een PlayStation-overlay die een PlayStation Network-account vereist. Controleer de huidige vereisten op de Steam-pagina voordat je koopt om te bevestigen wat je nodig hebt voor jouw setup.
