Over Green Hell
Green Hell is een open-world survival simulatiegame ontwikkeld en uitgegeven door Creepy Jar, een onafhankelijk studio gevestigd in Warschau, Polen, opgericht in 2016. Het kwam op 29 augustus 2018 in Steam Early Access en bereikte zijn volledige 1.0 release op 5 september 2019 voor PC, met Nintendo Switch die volgde in oktober 2020, PlayStation 4 en Xbox One in juni 2021. Consoleversies voor PlayStation 5 en Xbox Series X/S volgden in augustus 2024, samen met een laatste ontwikkelingsupdate in september 2024 die decoratieve functies toevoegde en de actieve updatecyclus van de game afsloot.
Spelers worden alleen wakker in het onontdekte Amazone regenwoud met niets anders dan een radio om hen te begeleiden, met de taak om te overleven in een omgeving die is opgebouwd rond echte realisme, of dat nu voedsel zoeken is, wonden en infecties verzorgen via een unieke inspectiemodus, mentale gezondheid beheren, of verdedigen tegen vijandige wilde dieren en tribale bedreigingen. Een optionele verhaalmode plaatst de speler in de rol van antropoloog Jake Higgins, die wakker wordt aan de rand van de Amazone rivier op zoek naar zijn vermiste vrouw Mia, een linguïst die verdween terwijl ze probeerde diplomatiek contact te leggen met een onontdekte stam bekend als de Yabahuaca. Jake's enige verbinding met Mia is via een radio, en naarmate het verhaal zich ontvouwt over ongeveer 25 uur, onthult het geleidelijk duistere geheimen die verbonden zijn met zijn eigen verleden en de krachten die diep in de jungle aan het werk zijn.
