How to Unlock K-Drives

The Bondi K-Drive serves as your starter hoverboard. It has limitations - you can't customize it, mod it, or gain mastery rank from it. Despite these restrictions, you can still use it to travel across open worlds and earn standing with the Vent Kids syndicate.
Ventkids Standing
To gain access to advanced K-Drives, you need to work with the Ventkids syndicate. Find them on the second floor of Fortuna by interacting with a vent near the center of the hub. This takes you to their hideout where you'll meet Rocky, the syndicate's vendor.
Rocky offers K-Drive parts, mods, and operator cosmetics in exchange for standing. Most purchases are blueprints requiring construction in your foundry. All items require specific syndicate ranks to unlock.
Earning Ventkids standing happens primarily through performing tricks on your K-Drive in open worlds. The more complex and varied your trick combinations, the more points you earn. These trick points convert to standing when you dismount your board or enter a new area.
Daily standing caps apply based on your Mastery Rank. At maximum rank with the Ventkids (called "Logical"), you can earn up to 132,000 standing. This allows you to save up for expensive items like K-Drive parts.
Remember that Ventkids standing is separate from other syndicates and doesn't affect your standing with groups like Entrati.

Crafting K-Drives
To craft a K-Drive, you need four component parts: board, reactor, nose, and jet. Each part requires Ventkids standing to purchase their blueprints.
After buying blueprints from Rocky, build the components in your foundry. Each part typically requires resources from Orb Vallis plus generic materials like credits, ferrite, and alloy plates. Component crafting times vary but generally take 12-24 hours.
Once you've built all four required components, return to the Ventkids hideout. Talk to Roky and select "Build a K-Drive" from his menu options. This opens the assembly interface where you can combine your parts.
The assembly interface lets you preview how different combinations will look before committing. You can also preview parts you don't own yet to plan future purchases.
K-Drives built from parts can be gilded once you reach maximum rank with them. Gilding resets the board to rank 0 but enhances its stats. If you prefer skipping the crafting process, daily special K-Drives are available for direct platinum purchase. These pre-built boards come with fixed stats and allow custom naming upon purchase.

Customizing Your K-Drive
