DOORS Monsters Guide: How to Survive Every Entity

DOORS is a multiplayer horror game on Roblox that was released in August 2022. Created by LSPLASH, the game challenges players to navigate through 100 rooms of a mysterious hotel while avoiding deadly entities that lurk in the shadows.

Players get only one life as they progress through numbered doors in consecutive order, solving puzzles and evading otherworldly beings that sweep through unexpectedly. The game features multiple floors, including the Hotel, the Mines, and subfloors like The Rooms and The Backdoor, each presenting unique challenges and terrifying encounters.

DOORS has become one of Roblox's most successful horror experiences, winning the "Best Horror" category in the Roblox Innovation Awards 2024 and attracting millions of players who test their survival skills against entities like Rush, Ambush, Seek, Figure, and many others.

In this article, we'll explore everything you need to know about surviving DOORS, from understanding each monster’s behavior patterns to mastering the strategies that will help you reach Door 100 and beyond.

DOORS features numerous monsters that will try to kill you as you progress through the hotel. Each monster has unique behaviors, attack patterns, and ways to avoid them. Understanding these entities is crucial for survival since most encounters will result in death if you're unprepared.

1. Eyes

Eyes can spawn starting from Door 5 and will appear randomly when you open doors throughout the hotel. When Eyes spawn, they emit a bluish-purple glow with a brief grace period to give players time to react. After this warning period, they will rapidly damage any player who looks at them, dealing 3 to 10 points of damage per second.

The damage depends on how centered Eyes are on your screen - looking directly at them causes maximum damage while having them at the edge of your vision deals less. To survive, look away immediately when you see the purple glow. Turn your camera toward the wall or floor and walk past them without taking damage. You can get very close to Eyes without harm as long as you're not looking at them. Eyes will disappear when you open the door to the next room, so move quickly to end the encounter.

2. Rush

When the lights flicker as you enter a room, Rush is coming. Rush will speed through multiple rooms, breaking lights along the way and making a gradually intensifying sound. Any direct contact with Rush results in instant death.

Find a hiding spot immediately when you see the lights flicker. Closets, beds, or vents are your hiding spots. Rush only spawns in rooms that have hiding spots available, so there's always somewhere to hide. Rush will always stop when it hits a closed door, and you'll know it's gone when the sound cuts off.

3. Ambush

Ambush behaves like Rush but is much more dangerous. Unlike Rush, Ambush gives off a green light and makes a different noise. It can appear as early as Door 2 and sometimes replaces Rush encounters.

The key difference is that Ambush rebounds, it will speed through rooms multiple times, cycling back and forth. This rebounding can occur between 1-4 times before despawning. Unlike Rush, the lights don't flicker to signal Ambush's arrival, you must rely on sound cues.

To survive Ambush, hide in a closet when you hear its distorted scream approaching. The critical strategy is to exit your hiding spot as soon as Ambush passes, then immediately hide again when it returns. You must keep exiting and re-entering hiding spots to avoid triggering Hide, who will force you out if you stay hidden too long.

4. Seek

Seek is one of the guaranteed encounters in DOORS and appears twice during every run. You'll know Seek is approaching when black eyes start appearing on walls and in paintings, becoming more frequent with each door. The first chase typically occurs between doors 21-40, while the second happens around doors 69-75.

The chase begins in a long hallway where Seek emerges from black ooze and starts pursuing you. During the chase, follow the blue glow from the Guiding Light, which highlights the correct path, doors to run through, and objects to crouch under. At intersections with multiple paths, look both ways to find the blue light. If you don't see it left or right, the correct door is straight ahead.

The chase ends in a long hallway with windows on both sides, where black hands will burst through and chandeliers may fall. Avoid the falling debris and keep running until you reach the final door. The entire chase sequence spans about 8 doors before Seek gives up, and the door shuts behind you.

5. The Figure

Figure appears guaranteed at doors 50 and 100 as the main boss encounters. It's completely blind but has extremely sensitive hearing and can detect footsteps, movement, and even heartbeats. Making any noise will attract the Figure to your location.

Stay crouched at all times to reduce noise and move slowly when the Figure is nearby. When Figure gets too close, hide in closets or under beds. If Figure finds your hiding spot, you'll need to complete a heartbeat minigame using the Q and E keys or mouse buttons. Missing twice will get you killed.

At door 50 in the Library, collect 8 books scattered throughout both floors to reveal symbols and numbers for the exit code. Also, grab the solution paper from the desk, which shows the correct sequence. At door 100 in the Electrical Room, collect 10 circuit switches and place them in the breaker room to restore elevator power. Figure becomes faster after each book or switch collected, making these encounters progressively more dangerous.

6. Screech

Screech spawns in naturally dark rooms and announces itself with a quiet "psst" sound. When you hear this, immediately turn around and look directly at Screech to scare it away. If you fail to look at it in time, Screech will deal 40 damage. Having a light source like a flashlight, candle, or lighter reduces Screech's spawn chances in dark rooms.

Timothy and Glitch

  • Timothy: A small black spider that hides in drawers and containers. When you open a container with Timothy inside, it jumps out and deals 5 damage. Timothy cannot kill you if you have 5 health or below, it leaves you with 1-4 health remaining.

  • Glitch: Appears when players fall behind their team or when rooms fail to load properly. In earlier versions, Glitch dealt 10-40 damage, but now it simply teleports you forward without causing harm. Stay close to your teammates to avoid triggering Glitch encounters.

Final Words

DOORS is a game that rewards patience, teamwork, and quick thinking. Mastering the monsters, using your items wisely, and communicating with teammates will significantly increase your chances of survival. The more you play, the sharper you'll get, so keep practicing and enjoy the thrills of the hotel!

Now that you have the ultimate DOORS guide, get ready to face the challenges ahead, and may the best survivors escape with their lives!
