Is Valorant Crossplay? PC, PS5 and Xbox Rules Explained
When players ask is Valorant crossplay, the answer depends on the platform. Valorant is crossplay only between consoles, so PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players can queue together, but PC players never share a match with console players. Riot keeps the two groups apart to keep matches fair between mouse and controller players.
Progress is a different story. Since console Valorant uses the same Riot account as PC, skins, agents and Battle Pass progress follow players from one platform to another, even though their rank doesn't.

Is Valorant Crossplay
Valorant came to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S after years on PC only, which made it a cross-platform game, meaning it's available on more than one platform. Crossplay is a separate feature that lets players on those platforms join the same matches, and Valorant only offers it between the two consoles.
Valorant players can team up across these platforms:
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players share matches and parties once crossplay is on.
PC players only play with other PC players, in every mode.
Console and PC players can't meet in any mode, custom games included.

Why Valorant Has No PC and Console Crossplay
Riot keeps PC and console players apart to protect competitive fairness. Mouse and keyboard let players aim faster and more accurately than a controller, so mixed matches would give PC players a clear edge in a game where one quick shot often decides a round.
Console Valorant was also built for controllers from the start, with its own changes to how aiming works. Using a keyboard and mouse on console isn't allowed, and Riot says any attempt, including adapters that trick the console into reading them as a controller, results in a ban.
Riot hasn't announced any plans to bring PC and console together, so PC players looking to play with console friends still need to add friends on the same platform.
How to Turn On Crossplay in Valorant on Console
Console crossplay isn't fully automatic, since Riot requires an in-game setting on both consoles and an extra system setting on Xbox. Turning on crossplay in Valorant takes these steps:
Open Valorant on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and sign in with the Riot account linked to that console.
Press the Options button on PS5 or the Menu button on Xbox to open the game menu, then select Settings.
Go to the General tab and scroll down to the Privacy section, where Valorant keeps its crossplay setting.
Find the Crossplay option, switch it on and confirm the change.
On Xbox, open the console Settings and go to Account, then Privacy and online safety, then Xbox privacy.
Under Communication and multiplayer, allow cross-network play, since Valorant can only match Xbox players with PS5 players once the console allows it too.
Add friends from the other console by entering their Riot ID and tag, such as Name#1234, under Add Friend in the friends list, then wait for them to accept.
Select the friend in the friends list and choose Invite to Party, after checking that everyone plays in the same region.
Turning crossplay off works the same way in reverse. With the option off, Valorant only matches players with others on the same console, and PC players stay in their own matches either way.
Players in different regions can't join each other, even with crossplay on. Riot's console guide notes that North America and Europe can't play together, so moving between servers means checking if players can transfer a Valorant account first.
Does Valorant Have Cross-Progression
Valorant has cross-progression, so one Riot account holds the same content on PC and console. Anything bought or earned on one platform shows up on the other after signing in with that account.

Valorant Points, Kingdom Credits and Radianite Points stay in one shared wallet.
Agents stay recruited everywhere, so recruiting agents only has to happen once.
Every weapon skin bought from the store shows up on PC and console.
Battle Pass ownership, its progress and daily and weekly missions carry over too.
Rank works differently. Each platform has its own rank and MMR, a hidden skill rating Riot uses to match players of similar skill. Climbing the Valorant ranks on PC doesn't move a player up on console, and the same goes the other way around.
Linking also needs care. Riot asks players to use their main Riot account when signing in on console, since content only carries over to the account that's linked. Anyone new to the game can create a Valorant account first and use it on both platforms.
Where is Valorant Console Crossplay Available
Valorant on console is only live in North America, Europe, Japan, Brazil and Oceania, with Oceania covering Australia and New Zealand. Players outside those regions can't play on console at all, which also rules out crossplay for them.
Mobile is a separate case. Valorant Mobile is only out in China, and Riot hasn't shared any crossplay or cross-progression plans for it. Outside China, Valorant stays limited to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
