レベル80はポケモンGOにおける現在の最大トレーナーレベルで、2025年10月15日にナイアンティックが上限を50から80に引き上げた際に導入されました。これは単にグラインドを延長しただけでなく、全体のXP曲線を再調整し、初期および中盤のレベルで必要なXPを減少させ、初期の進行を早くしました。一方で、最高レベルは依然として大きなコミットメントを必要とし、レベル80には合計で2億XP以上が必要です。以前に獲得したXPは自動的に引き継がれたため、アップデートが実施された際に誰も進行を失うことはありませんでしたが、古いレベル41-50のリサーチタスクは廃止され、レベル71から80の新しいレベルアップリサーチタスクに置き換えられました。
レベル80に到達すると、ポケモン、アイテム、ギフトのストレージが増加するなどの重要な報酬が得られ、ジャケットやヘアスタイルなどの限定コスメティックや、以前はレベル50に達することに関連していたミュウツーとの遭遇も含まれます。レベル50レベル80に移動しました。
