ARC Raiders Bird City: Everything to Know

ARC Raiders introduced Bird City as a temporary map condition that transforms the Buried City map during scheduled time windows. This limited-time event arrived with the Headwinds update and fundamentally changes how players approach the area.

When Bird City activates, the map gets an increased amount of Birds, additional ziplines appear throughout the map, and loot-rich bird nests spawn in chimneys and on rooftops. These nests contain valuable items, including trinkets and collectible rubber ducks.

In this article, we'll explore everything you need to know about Bird City, including when and how to access it, what specific changes it brings to the map, and the best strategies for looting the valuable bird nests.

What Changed

Bird City changes Buried City experience with several key modifications that shift gameplay toward rooftop movement. The event adds large flocks of birds throughout the map that act as sound traps, alerting other players and ARC units when disturbed. Additional ziplines appear across rooftops, creating faster and safer traversal routes between buildings.

The most valuable addition is searchable bird nests that spawn inside chimneys on buildings with terracotta or tiled roofs. These nests contain trinkets, materials, and Rubber Duck collectibles. Modern structures and buildings without traditional chimneys do not spawn nests, so players focus on older residential areas.

Bird City appears on a scheduled rotation throughout the day. When first introduced, it only activated every eight hours, making it difficult for many players to access. After community feedback, Embark Studios increased the frequency substantially, with the event now appearing approximately five to nine times per day at varying hours. Each activation window lasts one hour.

How to Maximize Your Loot Value

The Familiar Duck represents the most valuable item available during Bird City. This trinket sells for 7,000 coins per unit and stacks up to 15 in a single inventory slot, creating a potential maximum value of 105,000 coins from this item alone.

Prioritize collecting Familiar Ducks over other loot when exploring chimneys. A successful run through high-density areas can yield over 165,000 coins total when combining Familiar Ducks with other trinkets and nest contents. Other duck variants sell for less. Common and Uncommon versions fetch 1,000 coins each, while Rare ducks sell for 3,000 coins.

Nests spawn once per raid and do not respawn, so hitting multiple chimneys quickly across several short runs proves more efficient than attempting to search the entire map in one extended raid. Extract as soon as you collect valuable items to secure your earnings rather than risking loss to other players or ARC units.
