All Peyote Plant Locations in GTA 5

GTA 5's peyote plants are special collectible items that cause your character to hallucinate and transform into animals when consumed in Story Mode. There are 27 peyote plants across the map, 21 on land and 6 underwater. Each one triggers a different transformation, including birds, dogs, boars, and more. After the transformation ends, that animal becomes unlocked in Director Mode under the "Animals" category.

Finding these plants is challenging since they appear as small, round green cacti on the ground that most players won't even notice. Collecting all 27 plants rewards you with the "Cryptozoologist" achievement.

1. Paleto Bay

• Location: Paleto Bay

• Animal: Pug

The first peyote plant is located at the very top of the map in North Point, Paleto Bay. You'll find this plant west of a park bench positioned on the high point in the middle of the North Point Trim Track. The plant sits on the grassy terrain near the hiking trail, so approach the bench area and search the ground to the west for the distinctive green cactus.

• Animal: Killer Whale

This underwater peyote plant is located in Paleto Bay, offshore just northeast of the FlyUS submerged wreck next to a natural archway. You'll need a scuba suit to safely reach this plant since it's positioned on the ocean floor. The plant sits near the natural rock formation, so navigate to the wreck area and look for the distinctive archway structure.

3. Mount Chiliad

This peyote plant is located at Mt. Chiliad summit, southeast of the Bells End sign. You'll find it positioned next to rocks with two wooden sticks that have red cloth or tape wrapped around them.

4. Mount Chiliad

This peyote plant is located on the northeastern face of Mt. Chiliad. Navigate to the northeastern side of the mountain and search the sloped areas for the distinctive green cactus.

5. Mount Gordo

This peyote plant is located on Mount Gordo, beside a small lake west of the Yoga mat. You'll find it positioned near a tree that's close to the lake. The plant sits on the ground near the water's edge, making the nearby tree a useful landmark for spotting this location.

This peyote plant is located in Raton Canyon, high on an outcrop on the north side of Cassidy Creek. You'll find it positioned close to the edge of the rocky outcrop.

This peyote plant is located in Raton Canyon, just south of the East Alamo View lookout. You'll find it positioned next to some flowers on the ground.

This peyote plant is located in the northwest corner of the Alamo Sea, underwater. You don't need a scuba suit for this one, as this sea isn't that deep.

9. Fort Zancudo

This peyote plant is located just north of Fort Zancudo in a valley of Mount Josiah. You'll find it positioned really close to a bush. The plant sits in the valley area between the military base and the mountain, so search the ground near the bushes in this secluded location.

10. Pacific Ocean

• Animal: Shark

This peyote plant is located underwater in the Pacific Ocean directly west of the Lago Zancudo river mouth. You'll find it near a sunken rowboat on the ocean floor. Just swim past the sunken boat and you'll find it.

This peyote plant is located at Two Hoots Falls, directly south of the car park. You'll find it positioned near the lake on the map, slightly near the edge. The plant sits close to the edge, making the lake shoreline a good reference point.

This peyote plant is located in the Grand Senora Desert just west of the dirt road near the desert oil rigs. A brown yacht is just to the north of this location. It's going to be hard to spot since it's pretty much a desert, but you'll find it near multiple cactus trees.

This peyote plant is located in the Grand Senora Desert east of the Redwood Lights Track, just southwest of the "welcome" alien sign by the farmhouse. You'll find it positioned between two bushes.

14. Ron Alternates Wind Farm

• Animal: Coyote

This peyote plant is located in a trailer park at the north end of the Ron Alternates Wind Farm. You'll find it next to a metal fence between multiple bushes.

15. Pacific Ocean

• Location: Pacific Ocean

This peyote plant is located deep underwater in the Pacific Ocean, directly east of Humane Labs and Research, amongst the wreckage of military hardware. You'll find it east of the skeleton of a Barracks OL. A scuba suit is recommended for this deep underwater location, so navigate to the military wreckage area and search the seabed near the vehicle remains.

16. Vinewood Hills

• Location: Vinewood Hills

• Animal: Retriever

This peyote plant is located in Galileo Park just east of the Galileo Observatory Tunnel near the hiking trails picnic area. You'll find it positioned next to multiple bushes and a tree.

This peyote plant is located in West Vinewood Hills next to a storm drain inlet, north of the junction of Hillcrest Avenue and North Sheldon Avenue. You'll find it positioned near another plant.

This peyote plant is located at Gentry Manor Hotel on the top balcony. You'll find it in a plant pot on the rooftop area. You can't directly go up there, you'll need either a helicopter or land with a parachute to reach this elevated location.

19. Vinewood Hills

This peyote plant is located in Vinewood Hills on the east side of the Beaver Bush Ranger Station. You'll find it positioned near two big rocks on terrain that lacks green vegetation, making it easier to spot than most other plants.

20. Pacific Ocean

• Animal: Crow

This peyote plant is located in the Pacific Ocean on a small island to the east of the NOOSE Headquarters. It's located at the far right of the map, and a boat is required due to sharks in the surrounding waters.

21. Del Perro Pier

This peyote plant is located underwater off the end of the Del Perro Pier, a pier with multiple fairground rides. Simply jump off the edge and swim to the bottom, where you'll find it next to a fallen wooden leg from the pier's support structure.

• Location: San Andreas / Magellan Ave

• Animal: Hen

This peyote plant is located at Vespucci Beach in a plant pot on the rooftop pool balcony area of the Venetian Hotel. You can't directly go up there, so you'd need either a helicopter or land with a parachute to reach this location.

23. La Puerta

This peyote plant is located in Chamberlain Hills by the batting cage of the baseball diamond at the BJ Smith Recreational Center. You'll find it on the ground in the area behind the batting cage structure at the recreational facility.

24. El Burro Heights

• Animal: Mountain Lion

This peyote plant is located in El Burro Heights on the south side of the road by a parking area overlooking the south coast. You'll find it positioned next to two old trees in the parking area with coastal views.

This peyote plant is located in Mirror Park on the rear porch of a new home on the south side of the Nikola Place development. You'll find it in a plant pot on the back porch area of the residential property.

This peyote plant is located next to a bus carcass on the west side of the Los Santos Customs branch on Greenwich Parkway near LSIA.

This peyote plant is located underwater east of LSIA between the airport warehouses and the Port of Los Santos. This one is a little bit hard to find, but it's positioned near an enormous rock on the floor of the sea.
