Dandy's World Characters, Toons and How to Survive

Dandy's World is a mascot horror game on Roblox where you play as a cartoon Toon, fill Machines with Ichor, and run for the elevator before the Twisteds catch you. BlushCrunch Studio still lists it as an alpha on its official Roblox page, and it is closing in on 7.9 billion visits with frequent updates.
Most new players get stuck on the same questions: which Dandy's World characters to buy, what Ichor is for, and why a whole floor suddenly turns into a sprint. This page explains how a run works, what every Toon costs, and which purchases pay off first.
Dandy's World Summary
Each floor has Machines to fill with Ichor through skill checks, and a failed check alerts nearby Twisteds.
Finishing every Machine starts Panic Mode: the elevator stays open for about 30 seconds, and anyone left outside dies.
Ichor is the permanent currency for Toons and Trinkets. Tapes reset every run and pay for the elevator shop.
You start with Boxten or Poppy for free. The roster now has 40 obtainable Toons, from Shrimpo at 100 Ichor to Astro at 5,000.
Rodger doubles Research, which makes him the best early purchase for most players.
How Does a Run in Dandy's World Work?

A Dandy's World run is a climb through floors of Gardenview Center, and you advance by completing every Machine on the current floor. You fill a Machine by turning its valve and passing skill checks. A missed check pauses progress and alerts nearby Twisteds, the corrupted versions of the Toons.
Every hit from a normal Twisted costs one heart, and hearts don't refill on their own between floors, so only healing items, cards, or Toon abilities restore them. Lethal Twisteds, meaning Twisted Dandy and Twisted Dyle on his special floor, are the exception, since one hit from them takes all your hearts.
Once the last Machine finishes, Panic Mode kicks in. The elevator stays open for about 30 seconds, Twisteds speed up, and anyone outside when the doors close dies.
Tapes come from Machines, pickups and encounters during the run and buy items from Dandy's Shop, which opens in the elevator every other floor. Ichor stays on your account and pays for new Toons and Trinkets in the lobby.
Every Dandy's World Toon and What It Costs
Dandy's World characters are called Toons, and each has five stats rated from one to five stars: Skill Check, Movement Speed, Stamina, Stealth, and Extraction Speed. Most Toons also need a requirement on top of the price, such as a Research level or a floor count.
Group | Toons and Ichor cost |
|---|---|
Starters | Boxten, Poppy (free pick, the other costs 250) |
Under 1,000 | Shrimpo 100, Toodles 350, Tisha 500, Finn 500 |
1,000 to 1,300 | Cosmo, Looey, Rodger 1,000; Brightney, Brusha, Teagan 1,250; Flutter 1,300 |
1,500 to 2,000 | Scraps 1,500, Goob 1,750; Connie, Gigi, Razzle & Dazzle, Yatta 2,000 |
2,500 to 3,500 | Glisten 2,500, Blot 3,000, Squirm 3,000, Waxwell 3,500 |
Main Toons | Pebble 3,750, Shelly 4,250, Sprout 4,500, Vee 4,500, Astro 5,000 |
Starter Toons: Boxten and Poppy

Your first Toon is a free pick between Boxten and Poppy. The other one costs 250 Ichor, so the first choice never locks you out.
Cheap Toons Under 1,000 Ichor

Shrimpo costs only 100 Ichor, though most players treat his weak stats as a challenge pick. Toodles costs 350, and Tisha and Finn cost 500 each.
Toons From 1,000 to 1,300 Ichor

Cosmo, Looey, and Rodger cost 1,000 Ichor each; Brightney, Brusha, and Teagan cost 1,250, and Flutter costs 1,300. Rodger is the Research booster covered below and the best early purchase for most players.
Toons From 1,500 to 2,000 Ichor

Scraps costs 1,500 Ichor, and Goob costs 1,750. Connie, Gigi, Razzle & Dazzle, and Yatta sit at 2,000 each.
Toons From 2,500 to 3,500 Ichor

Glisten costs 2,500 Ichor, Blot and Squirm cost 3,000 each, and Waxwell costs 3,500. Check each requirement before you save up, since the Ichor price is rarely the only condition at this level.
Main Toons: Pebble, Shelly, Sprout, Vee and Astro

Pebble costs 3,750 Ichor, Shelly 4,250, Sprout and Vee 4,500 each, and Astro 5,000. Main Toons need 100% Research on their own Twisted plus all Mastery quests on a linked Toon. Astro is the exception: instead of Mastery quests, he needs his 100% Research plus a meeting with Twisted Dandy.
Event Toons

Twelve event Toons sit outside this list. They are sold only during Halloween, Easter, and Christmas, and you pay for them with that event's currency. The three event Main Toons, Gourdy, Bassie and Bobette, each cost 3,000 of their event's currency plus 2,500 Ichor.
Research, Rodger and Smart First Purchases

Research tracks how well you know each Twisted. Meeting one on a floor adds 5%, and each of its two Research capsules on the floor adds 1%. At 50% you read the Twisted's description, and at 100% you earn its Trinket.
Rodger doubles all of that, so he speeds up most later Toon purchases. He costs 1,000 Ichor and needs 50% Research on any Twisted. Most guides put him first on the shopping list, and we agree.
Spend Tapes freely and save Ichor. Buying at Dandy's Shop also keeps Twisted Dandy away, since skipping three shops in a row gives him a 20% chance to spawn, and any purchase resets that counter. After a failed skill check, step off the Machine and break line of sight around furniture.
Robux buys cosmetic packs, extra sticker wheels, and Ichor bundles, though every Toon can be earned through play. If you want to skip some of the grind, GameBoost sells Roblox gift cards. Fans of the genre can also try Forsaken, where one player hunts the rest of the server, or Pressure, where you hide from monsters in a deep-sea facility.

Final Words
Research is the number that quietly decides how fast you progress. Most Toon requirements include it, so a run where you meet several Twisteds can be worth more than a run where you survive a few extra floors.
The game is still an alpha, and BlushCrunch patches it often. Costs, stats, and requirements can shift between updates.
Start with Rodger, keep one Machine near the elevator for the end of every floor, and check the official Roblox page for patch notes before you plan a big Ichor purchase.
