EA Sports FC 27 mixes licensed club football with national team matches across Kick Off and Tournaments. Players searching for an FC 27 World Cup usually expect a dedicated mode with the official trophy, branding and qualified nations.
EA does not hold the FIFA licence, so no mode in the game carries the World Cup name. Plenty of national teams still sit in the database, and the Tournaments menu gives players enough control to build a full international competition from scratch.

FC 27 World Cup Mode and the FIFA Licence
EA and FIFA ended their licensing partnership after FIFA 23, the last EA football game with an official World Cup mode. FC 26 worked around the missing licence with a free update called The World's Game, by building an unofficial international tournament for it, with no FIFA trophy or branding attached.
EA has not confirmed a comparable update for EA FC 27, so it has no official men's World Cup mode, and EA has not announced one for the game. Any future international mode depends on what EA announces in its pitch notes.
In FC 27, women's national teams get their own preset in the Tournaments menu, called the Women's International Cup. Men's national teams have no matching option, so Custom Tournament is the only way to set up a men's FC 27 World Cup.
World Cup Teams Available in EA FC 27
EA FC 27 has national teams from around the world, so players have plenty of choice when building a World Cup. All the most popular sides are there, from France, Spain and England to Argentina, Brazil and Portugal, along with many more.
Some nations in the game are not fully official. Japan and Egypt, for example, have real players but made-up badges and kits, so the squads look right even when the shirts do not.
Several big World Cup nations are not in the game at all, including Senegal, Ecuador, Canada and Iran. Auto Fill can only pick teams that are in FC 27, so a custom FC 27 World Cup will not match every real World Cup line-up.
Reports say more Asian national teams could join the game through EA's AFC Asian Cup deal. EA has not said which nations those will be.
World Cup in FC 27 Career Mode
EA's FC 27 Career pitch notes cover the rebuilt Transfer Market, Dynamic OVR, Liga MX and custom career challenges. None of them mention an official World Cup, so a licensed World Cup in FC 27 Career Mode is not confirmed.
National teams have appeared in Career Mode before. FC 26 let players pick a national team at the start of a Manager Career save, and earlier FC games sent managers national team job offers alongside their club role. EA has not explained how international tournaments work in FC 27 Career Mode, so a World Cup equivalent there stays unconfirmed.
How to Play World Cup in EA FC 27?
Custom Tournament is the only way to set up a men's EA FC 27 World Cup. Everything happens in the single player Tournaments menu, and the whole setup takes only a handful of screens.
Players can build the tournament with these steps:
Select Tournaments in the main menu, then pick Enter Tournaments.
Scroll past Domestic Tournaments and select Custom Tournament.
Use the arrows on the Setup screen to switch the format to Group & Knockout.
Choose the Number of Teams and set Auto Fill Teams to Yes.
Name the tournament, turn Advanced Settings On and pick Men under Team Type.
Press A on Xbox or Cross on PlayStation to open Advanced, then set Auto Fill From to International so only national teams fill the draw.
Select the nation to play as on the Select Teams screen
Press the spacebar on PC or Options on PlayStation.
Swap teams between groups on the Group Setup screen, or press X on Xbox or Square on PlayStation to shuffle them at random.
Select Create New Tournament, name the save, set tactics in the tournament hub and hit Matchday to play the opening fixture.
Setting 32 teams, 4 teams per group and 2 teams advancing from each group creates eight groups and a round of 16, matching the classic World Cup layout. Keeping Team Rating Range wide leaves weaker nations in the draw, so the groups look more like a real set of qualifiers.
Advanced Settings for a Custom FC 27 World Cup
Advanced Settings control how close the custom competition feels to a real international tournament. Players can adjust everything from squad depth to the stadium that hosts the final.
Each option on the Advanced Settings screen controls one part of the format:

Narrow rating ranges can leave Auto Fill without enough eligible nations, and the in-game description warns about this. Setting Final Match Legs and Knockout Round Fixtures to one match makes every knockout round a single decisive game, which is how international tournaments usually run.
