Seasonal skins are the hardest to plan around, since most stop being earnable once their event ends. Trading or buying base skins is now the main route to older seasonal skins, while the Admin base stays locked to its weekly event regardless of progress.

Classic Base Skins in Steal a Brainrot
Default base skin is automatic and doesn't count as a real unlock. Gold and Diamond base skins are usually the first ones players finish, since those mutations show up more often.

Cursed, Divine, Cyber, Phantom, and Crystal only need 50-60%, but the mutations themselves are still rare enough that even that takes time. None of these are tradable directly, so lending Index brainrots between players is the best shortcut.

Since OG skins can't be traded as separate items, getting one means buying, trading for, or stealing the actual brainrot first. Once it's placed, the skin unlocks automatically and stays as long as the brainrot does.

Once an event ends, its Index-based skins usually stop being obtainable through normal play. Since the Summer Update, seasonal skins can be traded, so missing an event doesn't rule one out completely.
Gingerbread, Rose, Pot of Gold, Bunny Basket, and Red Octo come from direct shop purchases during their event window rather than an Index grind. Several events return yearly, so checking the shop each season is worth doing even after missing one.

SpyderSammy's Base isn't unlocked and kept. It only appears while an Admin Abuse event is live, held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. It spawns outside the normal map boundary, and players can steal brainrots and Lucky Blocks from it while the event runs.
It's more of a temporary opportunity than a permanent skin. Low-tier Secrets and Brainrot Gods can show up in Sammy's base, making it a faster route to rare brainrots than regular stealing.
