All You Need to Know About Brawl Stars Ranks

Brawl Stars is a multiplayer online-arena and hero-shooter game for mobile devices, available on iOS and Android. Players select from a roster of Brawlers, each with unique abilities and playstyles that cater to different strategies and team compositions.

Brawl Stars has two separate progression systems. The Trophy System tracks your performance in regular matches, where each Brawler earns individual trophies that unlock Tiers and rewards. Ranked Mode is a competitive format that uses Elo points instead of trophies, featuring draft picks, bans, and monthly seasons with ranks from Bronze to Pro.

In this article, we'll explore everything you need to know about Brawl Stars' ranked mode, including how it works, all available ranks, and the requirements for unlocking it.

Ranked System Explained

Ranked Mode is Brawl Stars' competitive playlist. Matches use random modes and maps selected when you queue. Both teams get a Team Captain, either the highest-ranked player or the party leader, who sees picks first during draft phases.

Matchmaking pairs players based on their current rank. You can queue solo, duo, or trio, depending on your rank tier. Masters II and above restrict you to solo queue only. Team restrictions tighten as you climb—Diamond players can only team with others within 8 ranks, Mythic within 3 ranks, and Masters within 1 rank.

Ranked rewards come through Ranked Starr Drops. You earn these twice per rank milestone, containing cosmetics, Bling, and exclusive Battle Card Backgrounds. Higher ranks unlock better drop tiers with epic, mythic, and legendary items.

Ranked Requirements

Ranked mode unlocks at 1,000 total trophies. To enter a match, you need at least 3 Brawlers at Power Level 9. From Bronze to Gold ranks, matches are single rounds without bans. You pick your Brawler blindly alongside both teams, then jump straight into battle.

Starting at Diamond rank, the requirements increase. You need at least 9 Brawlers at Power Level 9 to compete. Matches introduce a banning phase before Brawler selection, adding strategic depth to each game.

At Mythic rank and above, requirements become stricter. You need 12 Brawlers at Power Level 11. Matches switch to a best-of-three format with snake draft picking. After bans, players from both teams select Brawlers one by one in an alternating pattern. You get 20 seconds per pick, followed by 15 seconds to choose Star Powers, Gadgets, and Gears.

Ranked uses an Elo point system separate from trophies. You start at Bronze I with 0 points and climb through 22 ranks up to Pro at 11,250+ points. Winning grants points based on opponent strength, while losing deducts points.

Each season lasts one month and aligns with Brawl Pass seasons. At season end, ranks reset with a 10% Elo boost to help you climb back faster. Diamond I and above drop by six ranks, while Gold III and below reset to Silver I.
