FC 27 Coins Get Faster as Weekly Rewards Get Smaller

Every Ultimate Team season runs on one number, and in EA Sports FC 27 that number sits in the top corner of your club. FC 27 coins buy the exact players you want off the transfer market, so every other part of the mode feeds them.

EA has rewired how those coins reach you this year. End of Match Rewards move part of the weekly reward pool into per-match payouts, and a bigger share of what you earn lands as direct FUT Coins and tradeable packs rather than untradeable cards.

The game releases on 24 September 2026 at 11 PM UTC, with early access from 17 September on PC and 18 September elsewhere for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus buyers. This page explains how the FC 27 coin economy works from day one.

FC 27 Coin Economy Summary

FC 27 Coin Economy Summary
  • FC 27 coins come from matches, weekly competitive rewards, objectives, SBCs and transfer market sales

  • End of Match Rewards pay Match Coins and Season Points straight after games in select modes

  • EA says a portion of weekly mode rewards and Live Event Objectives moves into those per-match payouts

  • A larger share of rewards arrives as direct coins and tradeable packs

  • EA has not published per-match coin or SP figures, so pre-launch numbers are estimates

  • The FC 27 transfer market still charges a 5% tax on every completed sale, inside per-card price ranges

  • Rebuilt SBCs fill a progress bar, scoring each item on its overall rating and rarity instead of chemistry

How To Earn FC 27 Coins?

How To Earn FC 27 Coins?

You earn FC 27 coins five ways: playing matches, finishing weekly competitive modes, completing objectives, handing in Squad Building Challenges, and selling items on the transfer market. Most clubs use all five.

Matches now pay Match Coins and Season Points the moment the whistle goes. Coins per match are an old idea in Ultimate Team, and the change is the scale plus the seasonal progression bolted onto it. Weekly mode rewards sit on top of that.

Coins are separate from FC Points, the currency bought with real money. The Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions include 6,000 FC Points across three monthly drops, which open packs instead of funding market bids. Coins stay the only way to pick a specific player off the market.

What Do End of Match Rewards Change?

End of Match Rewards change when your income arrives rather than how much of it exists. EA set the shift out in the FC 27 FUT deep dive. At launch it expects part of the value tied to weekly mode rewards and Live Event Objectives to move into Match Coins and SP earned after a match in selected modes.

The weekly envelope shrinks by roughly whatever moves into per-match payouts. EA has published no per-match values, so the split stays unknown until players start logging games.

Casual players come out ahead. Every match returns something, including the ones you lose, so income compounds from the first session instead of building towards Thursday.

How Does the FC 27 Transfer Market Price Everything?

The FC 27 transfer market prices items on supply and demand, inside a fixed range EA sets per card. Price ranges have capped the minimum and maximum listing price of every player item for years, which stops scarce cards running away and blocks coin transfers between accounts.

Selling still costs 5% of the sale price as EA tax, deducted before coins reach your club. Each auction takes a start price, a Buy Now price and a duration of 1, 3, 6 or 12 hours. That window decides how much of the weekend crowd ever sees the card.

Rebuilt SBCs change what your fodder is worth. Chemistry and squad requirements give way to a progress bar, and each item you submit scores on its overall rating and rarity, the same scoring EA applies to the Gallery. Duplicates count, and traditional puzzle SBCs stay in the game. Fodder priced on rating instead of nation or league looks like the winner, and anyone who would rather start with a stacked club can pick up EA FC 27 accounts.

FAQs About FC 27 Coin Economy

FAQs About FC 27 Coin Economy

How much is the EA tax on FC 27 coins?

EA takes 5% of every successful transfer market sale before the coins land in your club. A player sold for 100,000 coins returns 95,000.

Can you still earn coins from Division Rivals and Champions?

Yes. Weekly mode rewards stay in FC 27, and EA expects part of that value to move into per-match payouts at launch. Weekly bundles should land smaller than the same finish in FC 26. EA has not named the modes affected.

When does FC 27 Ultimate Team start?

Early access begins on 17 September 2026 on PC and 18 September on other platforms, for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus buyers. Full release follows on 24 September at 11 PM UTC. The Web App usually opens days earlier, though EA has not confirmed a date.

Are FC 27 coins and FC Points the same thing?

No. Coins are earned in game and spend on the transfer market. FC Points are bought with real money and mainly open packs.

Final Words

All of this favours people who play a lot of football and care less about where they finish. Moving reward value into per-match payouts flattens the gap between a strong Champions finish and a losing weekend.

Once SBCs score submissions on rating and rarity, the old market logic around nation and league fodder loses its grip. Mid-rated golds could price very differently from past years, and the first fortnight of trading will set that baseline.

Nobody outside EA knows the per-match numbers yet. The first weekend of early access will show whether the new payouts replace the weekly value they came from, or whether the pool simply got quieter.
