Sparkle Specialist Fortnite Skin and Why It's Still OG

Sparkle Specialist is one of the oldest Battle Pass outfits in Fortnite, and one of the easiest ways to spot a player who started in 2017. The disco-themed Sparkle Specialist skin sat at Tier 56 of the Season 2 Battle Pass, and Epic has never sold it again.
A remixed version came back in 2025, but the original stays locked to the accounts that earned it during a ten-week season.
Below, you'll find when Sparkle Specialist came out, what came with it, why it never returned, and how the 2025 remix differs.
Sparkle Specialist Fortnite Skin Summary
Sparkle Specialist was the Tier 56 reward in the Chapter 1 Season 2 Battle Pass, which ran from December 14, 2017, to February 21, 2018.
It belongs to the disco-themed Fortnite Fever set and carries Epic rarity.
The original Sparkle Specialist Fortnite outfit has never returned to the Item Shop.
Sparkle Diva, a remix, arrived with the OG Pass on January 31, 2025. It's a separate outfit and doesn't grant the original.
Epic's 18-month return rule only covers passes from Chapter 5 Season 4 onward, so it doesn't apply here.
When Did Sparkle Specialist Come Out?

Sparkle Specialist came out on December 14, 2017, when Chapter 1 Season 2 launched. Players unlocked it at Tier 56 of that season's Battle Pass, which was Fortnite's first Battle Pass.
On February 21, 2018, the season ended, and the outfit left with it. Anyone who didn't reach Tier 56 in that window missed it for good.
The same pass put Black Knight at Tier 70. Black Knight gets most of the attention, but Sparkle Specialist sat just 14 tiers below it.
Battle Royale had been free for less than three months when the season started, so far fewer players had a shot at it than at any later pass. Our guide to Battle Pass costs shows how the format has grown since.
What Makes the Sparkle Specialist Skin Stand Out?
The disco look makes the Sparkle Specialist skin stand out, and it comes from the Fortnite Fever set, Epic's party-themed collection from the early seasons.
Pro Game Guides and the French site Millenium both list it as an Epic rarity outfit. The Fortnite Fever set later grew with Sparkle Supreme, a Tier 70 reward in the Season X Battle Pass in 2019.
Sparkle Supreme shares the set and the theme, but it's a different outfit with its own design. Owning one tells you nothing about the other, so check the name in the Locker before assuming an account is from 2017.
Sportskeeda ranks it among the rarest Battle Pass skins that most players never unlocked.
Why Sparkle Specialist Never Returned

Sparkle Specialist never returned, as Epic sold Chapter 1 Battle Pass items as exclusive to that season. Like other exclusive Fortnite skins, it has stayed off the Item Shop since the pass ended in February 2018.
Epic changed its policy in August 2024. Starting with the Chapter 5 Season 4 pass, Battle Pass items can come back to the shop 18 months or more after their pass expires. That rule only looks forward, so it doesn't cover a pass from 2017. The same limit keeps Drift from 2018 and Peter Griffin from Chapter 5 Season 1 out of the shop.
Sparkle Diva

The closest Epic has come is a remix. Epic's OG Chapter 1 Season 2 announcement introduced Sparkle Diva as a new outfit inspired by Sparkle Specialist, claimable as soon as players bought the OG Pass. She also has a second style, Dancefloor Diva.
That OG Pass ran from January 31 to March 25, 2025, and cost 1,000 V-Bucks. Epic says the same pass also carried items inspired by Black Knight and Cuddle Team Leader.
Is Sparkle Specialist Rare?
Yes, Sparkle Specialist is rare. It hasn't been sold since February 2018, and only players who reached Tier 56 in Season 2 own it.
It doesn't top most lists of the rarest Fortnite skins, since outfits like Renegade Raider and Black Knight get more attention. Among early female outfits, though, it's one of the clearest OG markers, and a strong pick for anyone building a locker of OG Fortnite girl skins.
The Sparkle Diva remix didn't change that. Owners of the original kept the only 2017 version, and buyers of the 2025 pass got a different outfit.
For collectors, the original sits in the same category as other early Battle Pass outfits covered in our guide to OG Fortnite accounts. Accounts are the only way to own it now, and GameBoost lists Sparkle Specialist accounts and broader Season 2 accounts with outfits from that pass.
FAQs About Sparkle Specialist Fortnite Skin
Final Words
Sparkle Specialist shows that a mid-tier reward can still become an OG status symbol. It sat 14 tiers below Black Knight and carries the same 2017 badge.
The 2025 remix showed how Epic now treats these outfits. It brings back the idea with a new design and leaves the original untouched.
Nothing suggests Epic will reopen Chapter 1 passes. Until it does, the original stays one of the cleanest signs of a player who was there in the first Battle Pass season.
