Wardogs Platforms Explained, From Steam to PS5 and Xbox
The Wardogs platforms list is short right now: the 100-player shooter from BULKHEAD and Team17 runs on Windows PC through Steam and nowhere else. Console players have a date to circle, though, since the Wardogs PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for 2028. Wardogs entered Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026, which leaves PlayStation and Xbox owners with a long wait.

Which Platforms Is Wardogs On Right Now?
Wardogs is available on one platform today: Windows PC via Steam. The official Steam page lists 64-bit Windows as the only supported system, and that's where every match of the current Early Access build is played.

Steam Deck owners are in the same spot as console players. A BULKHEAD developer said in a pinned Steam discussion post on September 4, 2026 that the game does not officially support Linux. The studio couldn't commit to Proton support for launch, though work on it continues. The game also runs Elytra, a kernel-level anti-cheat, and the studio hasn't said how that fits into its Proton plans.

Wardogs Reaches PS5 And Xbox In 2028
The Wardogs console release is set for 2028 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. BULKHEAD and Team17 announced the window on September 10, 2026, the same day Early Access opened, through the launch trailer and the official WARDOGS X account. Only current-generation hardware is named, so PS4 and Xbox One aren't on the list.
Nobody has attached a month or a quarter to that year. The Steam page says BULKHEAD expects around 1 to 2 years in Early Access, which puts the full PC release close to the console window. The studio hasn't confirmed whether consoles launch with 1.0 or after it.
Waiting has an upside. BULKHEAD plans to add more maps, weapons, vehicles, fighter jets and deeper progression before the full release, so console players should get a more finished game than today's PC build. On Steam, the price is also set to go up at full launch.
I'd still treat 2028 as a target. Live-service shooters change course often, and a slip on the PC side could push the Wardogs Xbox and PlayStation versions back with it.
Wardogs Crossplay, Game Pass and Switch Status
Wardogs crossplay has not been announced. The Steam page carries no cross-platform multiplayer tag, and with only one platform live there's nothing to connect to yet. Cross-progression is also unconfirmed, so nobody knows whether PC cash, XP or cosmetics would carry over to a console account.
Wardogs matches are built around 100 players split across three teams. Separate PC and console pools would make console lobbies harder to fill, especially for a version arriving years after the PC launch.
Game Pass is still an open question. A planned Xbox version doesn't automatically mean a subscription deal, and no Game Pass or PS Plus release has been announced.
Nintendo fans are left out for now. There is no Switch or Switch 2 version announced, and BULKHEAD hasn't commented on Nintendo hardware at all.

Final Words
Two years is a long time in the shooter market, and the console versions will likely face a different market than the PC game did in September 2026. PS5 and Xbox players will probably skip the roughest Early Access stretch, though BULKHEAD hasn't said which content the console versions will ship with.
A three-team, 100-player format lives or dies on queue times, and whether console players share servers with the PC crowd could decide how the 2028 launch goes.
For now, PC players on Windows are the only ones who can play. Keep an eye on the official WARDOGS channels and the Steam news page, since any change to the Early Access timeline could move the console date too.
