Fishstick Fortnite Skin, Every Style and How to Get It

Fishstick Fortnite fans know the look on sight: a walking orange fish who has been in the game since the end of 2018. The Fishstick skin started as one Item Shop outfit and turned into a whole family of variants, from a gummy candy version to a buff Battle Pass upgrade.
Fortnite keeps bringing him back, which makes the original easy to find and some of the spin-offs very hard to get.
Below, you'll find when Fishstick came out, what he costs, every major variant and where each one came from, and the realistic ways to add him to your locker.
Fishstick Fortnite Skin Summary
Fishstick arrived in the Item Shop on December 26, 2018, in US time zones, during Chapter 1 Season 7.
He's a Rare outfit from the Fish Food set and costs 1,200 V-Bucks.
Players who owned or bought him during the 2019 Fortnite World Cup got a World Cup style that never came back.
Gummy Fishstick (Item Shop) and Frozen Fishstick (Polar Legends Pack) were sold for a limited time.
Toona Fish and Fish Thicc came from older Battle Passes, so they count as exclusive.
Blinky Fishstick from the Simpsons pass could return to the shop from late May 2027 at the earliest.
Who Is Fishstick in Fortnite?
Fishstick is one of Epic's original Fortnite characters, a humanoid orange fish. He first hit the Item Shop on December 26, 2018, for the Americas and December 27 for Europe and Asia, since the shop resets at midnight UTC.
The outfit is Rare and costs 1,200 V-Bucks. It belongs to the Fish Food set, and the Saltwater Satchel back bling comes with it.
Epic kept building on him, and his seasonal variants now span several chapters, from Halloween candy to Simpsons parody.
Fishstick Styles

The original outfit has five styles: Default, Pirate, VR, World Cup and Champion Fishstick. Each style swaps his hat and top, and Champion Fishstick also adds a patterned face.
Anyone who bought or owned Fishstick during the 2019 Fortnite World Cup received the World Cup style, which Epic hasn't offered again and which now sits alongside other exclusive Fortnite skins.
Every Fishstick Skin and Where It Came From
Each Fishstick variant came out in a different way, which decides whether you can still buy it today:
Fishstick skin | Source | When |
|---|---|---|
Fishstick | Item Shop, 1,200 V-Bucks | December 2018 |
Frozen Fishstick | Polar Legends Pack (real money) | Chapter 2 Season 1, December 2019 |
Toona Fish | Battle Pass, customizable colors | Chapter 2 Season 8, 2021 |
Gummy Fishstick | Item Shop, 1,200 V-Bucks | October 16, 2021 |
Fish Thicc | Battle Pass | Chapter 4 Season 4, 2023 |
Blinky Fishstick | Simpsons Battle Pass | November 2025 |
Other Fishstick spin-offs exist too, including Triggerfish, Fishskull, and Fa-La-La-La-Fishstick.
Fishstick

The original Fishstick has rotated through the Item Shop since December 2018 at 1,200 V-Bucks, which makes him the easiest version to get.
Frozen Fishstick

Frozen Fishstick came in the Polar Legends Pack, a real-money pack, with Frozen Nog Ops, The Devourer, and Codename E.L.F. He appears with the other holiday outfits in our guide to Fortnite Christmas skins.
Toona Fish

Toona Fish let players paint the outfit with colors found around the map in Chapter 2 Season 8. His custom styles also copy the look of other well-known skins, such as Renegade Raider, Peely and Midas.
Gummy Fishstick

Gummy Fishstick launched during Fortnitemares 2021, and Epic's Fortnitemares 2021 Item Shop roundup lists him as a candy-themed surprise. His styles switch between red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple candy, and you'll find him again in our list of Fortnitemares skins.
Fish Thicc

Fish Thicc turned Fishstick into a bodybuilder in the Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass. Leveling the pass added the Fin-dicator Fish Thicc and Reef Cake Fish Thicc styles.
Blinky Fishstick

Blinky Fishstick, the three-eyed fish from Springfield, was a reward in the Fortnite Simpsons season Battle Pass. He also has a Hazardous Blinky Fishstick style.
How to Get Fishstick in Fortnite Now
The original Fishstick can only be bought when he rotates into the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks, which is also how Skull Trooper returns, usually around Halloween. Epic doesn't announce rotations ahead of time, so check the official Item Shop page after the daily Item Shop reset time.
Gummy Fishstick follows the same rule, since he was also an Item Shop outfit. Item Shop skins can still stay away for years, as Kratos has since March 2021. Frozen Fishstick depends on Epic bringing back the Polar Legends Pack or selling the outfit on its own.
Toona Fish and Fish Thicc came out before Epic's August 2024 rule, so they aren't expected to return, and you can compare those passes in our breakdown of Battle Pass costs. Blinky Fishstick falls under the 18-month rule, which puts his earliest possible return around late May 2027.
Keeping V-Bucks ready, or redeeming a Fortnite gift card, lets you buy Fishstick the day he shows up. Our guide to how much V-Bucks cost shows the cheapest pack. Fishstick accounts already include the outfit, and Fortnite items cover other cosmetics.
FAQs About Fishstick Fortnite Skin
Final Words
Fishstick shows how Epic turns an Item Shop outfit into a mascot. The base skin is common, but the versions around him split cleanly into buyable and locked.
Collectors care most about the style menu: a World Cup style on Fishstick points to a locker from 2019, and Epic hasn't offered that style again.
Late May 2027 is the next date to watch, when Blinky Fishstick becomes eligible for a shop return.
