How to Get Ecto-Tokens in OSRS

Old School RuneScape is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by Jagex. It launched in February 2013 as a version of the 2007 build of RuneScape with community-guided updates and has since grown into one of the most popular classic MMORPGs in the world.
The game features various specialized currencies for different areas and activities. Ecto-tokens are special untradeable in-game currency tied to the Ectofuntus and Port Phasmatys content. Players need these tokens to access certain areas, purchase items, and complete specific tasks in the Phasmatys region.
In this article, we'll explore everything you need to know about Ecto-tokens, including what they do, how to get them, and what you should spend them on.

How to Get Ecto-Tokens
Ecto-tokens are an untradeable currency used in Port Phasmatys and the surrounding Morytania region. Players earn them by worshipping the Ectofuntus, which rewards 5 tokens per worship along with Prayer experience. You can obtain Ecto-tokens through the following method:
Collect bones (any type), empty pots, and empty buckets
Head to the Ectofuntus temple north of Port Phasmatys
Go to the basement and fill your buckets with slime from the pool
Climb to the first floor and use the bone grinder to convert bones into bonemeal (stored in pots)
Return to the ground floor and worship the Ectofuntus with one bonemeal and one bucket of slime
Equip a Ghostspeak amulet or Morytania legs 2+ and talk to a Ghost Disciple to claim your tokens
Each worship grants 5 Ecto-tokens and four times the normal Prayer experience you'd get from burying bones. The process requires one bone, one pot, and one bucket of slime per worship. Ghost Disciples can hold up to 1,000 tokens before you need to collect them.

Uses for Ecto-Tokens
Players need Ecto-tokens for quest requirements, area access, and purchasing specific items from NPCs in Port Phasmatys and the surrounding area. These tokens are also essential for maintaining bonecrusher charges during Slayer and combat activities.
Here's what you can spend Ecto-tokens on:
Port Phasmatys Entry: 2 tokens per entry before completing the Ghosts Ahoy quest (free after completion)
Ghosts Ahoy Quest: 25 to 31 tokens required, depending on how you enter the city
Bonecrusher Charges: 1 token provides 25 charges for the bonecrusher and bonecrusher necklace
Undead Chicken: 10 tokens from Malcolm after completing the Animal Magnetism quest
Ale Yeast: 5 tokens from Metarialus (though you can buy it cheaper elsewhere for 25 coins)
Charter to Dragontooth Island: 25 tokens for ship travel
Most players collect Ecto-tokens primarily for bonecrusher charges since the item is commonly used during Slayer tasks and PvM activities.

Final Words
Ecto-tokens are straightforward to obtain through the Ectofuntus worship system. The process rewards you with both Prayer experience and tokens, making it an efficient way to train Prayer while stockpiling currency for bonecrusher charges and Port Phasmatys activities. Completing the Ghosts Ahoy quest removes the entry fee requirement and unlocks the ectophial teleport, which makes future token farming much faster.
