How to Redeem PlayStation Gift Cards on PS5, PS4 and Web
PlayStation gift cards add money to a PlayStation Network (PSN) wallet, and redeeming one takes a 12-digit code and about a minute. The code works on a PS5, a PS4, a web browser or the PlayStation App, and the steps change a little on each.

A code can be redeemed without a console through any web browser, on a computer or a phone. The steps are:
Go to store.playstation.com and sign in to the PlayStation account.
Select the profile icon at the top of the page.
Select Redeem Code from the drop-down menu.
Type in the 12-digit code and select Continue.
The balance syncs to every PS5 and PS4 signed in to that account, so a card redeemed on a laptop is ready to use on the console.
How to Redeem a PlayStation Gift Card in the PlayStation App
The PlayStation App on iPhone and Android works the same way as the website. The steps are:
Open the PlayStation App and tap the PS Store icon.
Tap the menu icon on the right side of the screen.

Wrong code length: Real voucher codes always have 12 digits. A 10-digit code is a discount code and goes in the cart under Enter Discount Code.
Typing or scratch mistakes: Scratch the silver strip off carefully with a coin and check letters that look alike, such as 0 and O or 1 and I.
Region mismatch: Cards only work in the region they were issued for, and the account region can't be changed after setup.
Card not activated: Store cards that say "no value until activated at register" need the retailer to confirm activation.
Already redeemed: Each code works once. Redeemed codes show up under transaction history in Account Management.
Wallet limit reached: Errors like WC-40377-1 or E-82000138 can mean the wallet is full, so the code works again once some of the balance is spent.
If the code still fails, checking the PlayStation Network status page comes next, since PlayStation Store outages can block every code for a while. Signing out and back in also helps once the service is back up.
Redeeming a Gift Card on a Child Account
Child accounts can't redeem wallet top-up codes themselves. PlayStation asks the family manager to redeem the card on their own account, then set a monthly spending limit for the child in Family Management.
