Onimusha: Way of the Sword hidden treasure locations are some of the easiest optional rewards to miss in Capcom's new samurai action game. There are five hidden treasures in total, all in Eastern Kyoto, and none of them shows up until you read an Old Drawing and switch on Oni Vision in exactly the right spot.

There are 5 hidden treasures, all in Eastern Kyoto.
Each hunt starts as a Chance Encounter where an NPC hands Miyamoto Musashi an Old Drawing with an X over the spot.
The first hunt opens after the main quest To Live Is to Suffer. The last two need further story progress.
Stand on the spot and use Oni Vision to reveal the chest symbol.
Every chest holds 1 Fine Silk Cloth plus two Oni Stones or Power Stones. Treasure #5 adds a Skeleton Hozuki.
How Does the Onimusha Hidden Treasure Hunt Work?
You find each Onimusha hidden treasure by pairing an Old Drawing with Oni Vision. Wandering Kyoto, you'll run into NPCs during Chance Encounters, and each one gives Musashi a sketch of a place with an X over the hiding spot.
Accepting the encounter drops a green circle on your map. It only marks the general area, so the real work is lining up the ladders, walls and rooftops in the drawing with what's in front of you.
Once you're standing in the right place, trigger Oni Vision. A symbol appears where the chest was hidden, and interacting with it makes the chest materialize. Without Oni Vision, you can walk straight over a treasure spot and never know it was there.
When Do the Hidden Treasures Become Available?
Treasures #1 to #3 become available once you complete the main quest To Live Is to Suffer, and the last two follow later in the story. From that point, NPCs around Kyoto start handing out the first Old Drawings.
The fourth hunt opens after The Demon on the Mount, and treasure #5 waits until you finish In the Light of an Icy Moon. No drawing NPC in sight? You most likely haven't cleared the mission that triggers the next hunt.
Accept each quest before you start searching. The green circle only appears once the encounter is active, and searching without it turns a quick hunt into a long rooftop crawl.
Every Onimusha Way of the Sword Hidden Treasure Location
Every hunt starts a short walk from a Spirit Mirror, so fast travel does most of the legwork.

A short climb gets you treasure #1. Circle the building next to the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror, take both ladders and search the right side of the upper roof.
For treasure #2, head west from the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror and drop down from the rock edge into the shallow water by the waterfall. Can't spot it? Stick to the northern edge of the search circle and skip the first structures you see.
Treasure #3 is back at the temple where you fought Ifuu and Burai. Turn right before the second gate, work past the corruption toward the east side of the grounds and use Oni Vision at the closed gate. Treasure #4 sits on a shrine balcony: climb the rocks, move left past the door and search the back. Treasure #5 means climbing the pagoda's interior ladders and clearing the Genma on the roofs before checking the southern edge.
Hidden Treasure Rewards
Every chest contains 1 Fine Silk Cloth, the one reward all five share. Treasures #1, #2 and #5 each add 2 Oni Stones, and #3 and #4 swap those for 2 Power Stones. The final chest on the Yasaka Pagoda roof also holds a Skeleton Hozuki, which makes it the best haul of the five.
The set carries no trophy of its own. The items still count toward wider completion, so anyone chasing everything in the roughly 33-hour full run should grab all five.

Final Words
Most of this hunt is map reading, and only the Yasaka Pagoda route puts Genma in your way. The Skeleton Hozuki in that final chest is the best prize, and it only opens up after In the Light of an Icy Moon.
Treasure #3 sits away from the main temple entrance, so head for the east side of the grounds first.
