Halloween: The Game Civilian Stats and Haddonfield Escapes

Halloween: The Game Civilian Stats and Haddonfield Escapes

Halloween: The Game civilian stats decide how hard you hit, how quickly you fix things, and how well you talk frightened neighbors into safety. In IllFonic's 1v4 horror game, escaping is only part of the job for Halloween: The Game civilians, since the AI residents wandering Haddonfield decide a big share of your team's score.

In our Halloween: The Game review, this was what pulled the verdict down. Civilian rounds run about 20 minutes, and the neighbors you're trying to save can wreck a good plan by strolling back onto the lawn.

This page explains how residents work, what the four civilian stats do, which characters carry the best numbers, and how every exit opens.

Civilians Guide Summary

Civilians Guide Summary
  • Residents are the score. Warn them, persuade them to hide, follow or call the police, then walk them out.

  • Four civilian stats: Capability (melee), Athleticism (movement), Personality (persuasion and fear resistance) and Resourcefulness (repairs, vehicles, firearms).

  • Laurie Strode has the highest launch total at 30 points and no stat below 6.

  • Personality 9 or 10 (Laurie, Thomas, Tanya, Alexis, Richard) suits the player on resident duty.

  • Four ways out: cellar hatch, sedan, fuse gate and police. The police wagon needs three calls and no items.

Civilian Matches Live Or Die On Residents

Haddonfield is full of AI residents going about their evening, and your team scores by getting them to safety. You walk up, warn them that Michael is out there, and then persuade them to hide, follow you or call the police. Walking them out finishes the job.

Personality governs how well those requests land. Follow is the order to lean on. A resident who tags along searches storage, picks up weapons and dials the police without more input from you, so your hands stay free for keys and fuses.

Their judgment is the weak link. In our review matches, a neighbor talked into hiding wandered back onto the lawn, and others sprinted toward Michael when told to run. So how do you keep them alive? Park hidden residents in rooms with one entrance, and lead followers around lawns instead of straight across.

Police calls pay twice. Extra calls bring more police presence and new exit options, and once the Reinforcements Available message appears, a CB radio brings the first dead player back as Sam Loomis. Michael goes down but never dies, and the police can only hold him for a short time.

Each civilian carries four stats, and each one covers a separate part of the match.

Capability

The standard edition ships with ten civilians, and the Digital Deluxe Edition adds Richard Hawthorne and Alexis Purcell. IllFonic's official civilian roster covers their backstories. The numbers below are community-compiled launch values, and patches have moved the balance since the September 8, 2026 release, so check the select screen before picking a main.

On paper, Laurie is the best civilian for most players, with nothing on her card holding a team back. Past her, pick by role. Thomas, Tanya and Alexis carry 10 Personality for resident duty. Marcus (10 Resourcefulness) and Rachel suit the player chasing keys, cars and fuses, and Bob's 9 Capability is the highest on the roster for fighting back.

A team with one high-Personality talker and one high-Resourcefulness fixer covers both halves of the objective. Low scores bite, too. Rachel's 2 Personality makes her a poor pick for talking residents into anything.

How to Escape in Halloween The Game

Every map has several cellar hatches, plus three other exit types that each need their own items.

Exit

What you need

Watch for

Cellar hatch

Key or bolt cutters

Some also need leaves cleared or wood cut

Sedan

Car key, gas can, repair kit

Slowest, with the car to locate first

Fuse gate

Fuse plus bolt cutters or exit key

On the outskirts, and boards may need a hatchet

Police wagon

Three police calls

A dead officer's key also opens a patrol car

Spread out early. Covering ground reveals exits on your map faster than searching one house top to bottom, and a hatch with a plain padlock is usually the quickest win.

The police wagon pairs well with resident duty, since followers make calls for you. Keep a weapon from the first minutes: small blades stun Michael when he grabs you, and larger ones let you swing before he catches you.

FAQs About Civilians Guide

FAQs About Civilians Guide

Who is the best civilian in Halloween: The Game?

Laurie Strode has the strongest launch stat line at 30 total points. Thomas, Tanya and Alexis are better pure resident handlers, and Marcus leads on objectives.

How long is a civilian match in Halloween: The Game?

About 20 minutes, with four civilians against one Michael.

Can you kill Michael Myers as a civilian?

No. Four civilians with axes and bats can put him on the floor, and the police can detain him for a short time, but he always gets back up.

Can you play Halloween: The Game solo?

Yes, through The Night He Came Home, the single-player story with a prologue and five chapters. You play it as Michael, and it runs about two hours.

Final Words

The resident system turns every civilian match into an escort mission. A player who keeps a porch full of neighbors alive can matter more to the score than the one who finds the car key.

That makes Personality the most underrated stat on the card. High-Personality civilians get warnings and commands done faster, and those seconds add up over 20 minutes.

Nobody outside IllFonic knows when the resident AI gets tightened up. Residents that walk back outside undo good play, so watch the patch notes for AI and stat changes, as either can reshuffle the roster above.
