Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Enemies and Bosses by Chaos God

Boltgun 2 enemies come from all four Chaos gods for the first time in the series. Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 launched on October 14, 2026, and each god sends its own troops after Malum Caedo and Nyra Veyrath. Four named Boltgun 2 bosses stand in the way too.

We covered the roster under one heading in our Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 review. This page goes further: which units belong to which god, what each one does in a fight, and what is confirmed about the four named bosses, Vashtorr included.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 Enemies Summary

  • All four Chaos gods send armies for the first time, with Slaanesh joining the series.

  • Nurgle brings Poxwalkers, Plague Marines and Blightlord Terminators, whose attacks leave toxic hazard zones.

  • Khorne's Juggernauts eat corpses to heal, their own fallen rider included.

  • Tzeentch fights lean toward bullet hell, with missile-firing Scarab Occult Terminators.

  • Four named bosses: the Great Unclean One, the Lord of Change, the Lord of Skulls and Vashtorr the Arkifane. No Slaanesh boss has been named.

  • The first game's toughness numbers are mostly gone, so weapon matchups come down to testing.

Nurgle Brings Poxwalkers and Plague Marines

Nurgle has the longest list of named units so far. Nurglings come back as fodder next to the Chaos Cultists, and Poxwalkers and Plague Marines fill out the ranks. Auroch Digital added Plague Marines so every Chaos faction has a Chaos Marine unit.

The heavy hitter is the Blightlord Terminator. On the PlayStation Blog enemy reveal, Auroch Digital's lead designer Matt Bone says it throws blight grenades and slams its flail into the ground. Both attacks leave a noxious zone behind.

Every grenade and flail slam shrinks the safe floor. Circle the room and fight from clean ground, since Auroch Digital designed these zones to keep you moving.

Khorne Sends Bloodletters and Juggernauts

Khorne's new centerpiece is the Bloodcrusher, a Bloodletter riding a daemonic Juggernaut. Auroch Digital calls it the first mounted enemy it has made for Boltgun, and the rider can leap off mid-fight, so one target becomes two.

The Juggernaut charges forward relentlessly and towers over you. It also has a consume ability that lets it eat nearby corpses to regain health, its former rider included. Kill the Bloodletter right next to its mount and you may be handing the Juggernaut a free heal.

We'd focus the Juggernaut first for that reason. In our review, it was the enemy we ended up planning every arena around, and dodging its charges matters more as Malum than as the lighter Nyra.

Slaanesh and Tzeentch Round Out the Boltgun 2 Enemies

Slaanesh makes its series debut. Daemonettes leap around in high arcs, then close in with a zigzagging phase attack and claw at you up close. Noise Marines fire sonic blasts, and the stronger ones emit pulsing noise barriers.

Tzeentch gets Rubric Marines and the Scarab Occult Terminator, which carries a Hellfyre Missile Rack that fires a rapid stream of missiles. Auroch Digital built the Tzeentch faction around bullet hell gameplay.

The Forge Fiend is a slow, tanky enemy with heavy damage output. One review describes shooting out the supporting pillars in its arena until the structure collapsed on it. Crushing pistons, pits and toxic pipes show up as usable traps elsewhere too.

Every Boltgun 2 Boss Fight

Every Boltgun 2 Boss Fight

Reviews name four Boltgun 2 bosses: one each for Nurgle, Tzeentch and Khorne, plus Vashtorr. The campaign branches, so you won't see every mission in one run, and Auroch Digital hasn't said which route leads to which boss.

Boss

Allegiance

What we know

Great Unclean One

Nurgle

Sits in a central chamber and peers into the three rooms around it

Lord of Change

Tzeentch

Returns from the first game, where players fought it repeatedly

Lord of Skulls

Khorne

Daemon Engine with a Great Cleaver of Khorne, taken apart piece by piece

Vashtorr the Arkifane

Leader of the Chaos forces

Main antagonist, with his own Mick Gordon track

The Great Unclean One Boltgun 2 fight was the toughest wall we hit on our first run, and another review calls it a fight to remember. The Lord of Skulls stays bound inside a factory, and you strip its weapons one at a time.

Vashtorr leads the Chaos forces, and the campaign's final stretch takes place aboard his ship, the Ark of Omen. One reviewer found some boss fights hard even on Normal, since they leave little room to recover.

FAQs About Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2

How many Boltgun 2 bosses are there?

Four have been named: the Great Unclean One, the Lord of Change, the Lord of Skulls and Vashtorr the Arkifane. The branching campaign means a single run may not show every encounter.

Are Boltgun 2 enemies from all four Chaos gods?

Yes. Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh and Tzeentch each have their own units, according to the official Steam store page.

Who is Vashtorr in Boltgun 2?

Vashtorr the Arkifane is the main antagonist, a daemon known as the Master of the Soul Forges. He leads the Chaos forces and gets his own track, composed by Mick Gordon.

Does Boltgun 2 still show enemy toughness?

Mostly no. The toughness and strength numbers from the first game no longer appear on screen, though the developers have said parts of that system are still in the game.

Final Words

Movement matters more than aim against this roster. Nurgle leaves poison on the floor, Khorne's Juggernauts heal off the dead, and Tzeentch fills the air with missiles, so each god punishes standing still in its own way.

First-game veterans will feel the missing toughness numbers most. Without a strength rating to check, you pick weapons by feel, and working out what handles a Blightlord or a Forge Fiend may cost a few deaths.

Slaanesh has a full army but no boss named in any review we read. Our two runs didn't cover all 30-plus missions either, so the boss list may not be complete.
