How to Get Exalted Skins in League of Legends

League of Legends is a free-to-play MOBA game developed and published by Riot Games. Like any other free-to-play game, its revenue comes from cosmetics that don't provide gameplay advantages beyond changing your champion's appearance. Among these cosmetics are Exalted skins, an extremely high-tier category that offers enhanced visuals, multiple forms, unique effects, custom animations, and exclusive voice lines.

Unlike standard skins, Exalted skins aren't available in the regular in-game shop. They follow a different acquisition system that requires specific methods and significant investment.

In this article, we'll explore how to obtain Exalted skins, what they cost, and what makes them worth the price compared to other cosmetic options in League of Legends.

What Are Exalted Skins?

Exalted skins are the second-highest tier of cosmetic content in League of Legends. Each Exalted skin typically includes three or more distinct forms that players can switch between during matches, with each form having its own aesthetic and thematic elements.

Currently, League of Legends has five Exalted skins available:

How to Get Exalted Skins

Exalted skins are only available through the Sanctum, a gacha-style system introduced in Patch 14.24. The Sanctum functions as an exclusive reward pool where players spend Ancient Sparks, a premium currency that costs 400 RP each, to draw random rewards.

The system operates through separate banners for different content types. Exalted skins have their own dedicated banner that's distinct from the Mythic Variant banner. When you spend an Ancient Spark on the Exalted banner, you receive a random reward from the available pool. Each pull gives you a 0.5% chance of obtaining the featured Exalted skin, along with chances for other cosmetics like event skins, chromas, emotes, profile banners, and Mythic Essence.

Ancient Sparks don't expire, so you can save them for future Exalted skin releases if you're not interested in the current offering. The system includes bad-luck protection that guarantees you'll receive the Exalted skin within 80 pulls. Your progress toward this guarantee carries over between different Exalted skin banners, meaning if you spend 40 Ancient Sparks on one Exalted skin and don't get it, those 40 pulls will count toward your next Exalted skin attempt.

How Much Are Exalted Skins

The cost of an Exalted skin depends entirely on luck. In the best-case scenario, you could get one on your first pull for just 400 RP. In the worst-case scenario, you'll need to hit the 80-pull guarantee.

Since each Ancient Spark costs 400 RP, the maximum cost for a guaranteed Exalted skin is 80 Ancient Sparks multiplied by 400 RP, which equals 32,000 RP. This translates to approximately €244.93 based on current RP pricing, though the exact cost varies depending on your region and how you purchase RP bundles.

Most players won't get lucky enough to pull an Exalted skin early. The 0.5% drop rate means you have a 1 in 200 chance per pull, making it statistically unlikely to obtain the skin without reaching or getting close to the 80-pull guarantee.

Final Words

Exalted skins are the most premium cosmetic option in League of Legends, offering multiple forms and exclusive features that go beyond standard skin tiers. The Sanctum system's gacha mechanics mean you'll likely need to invest the full 32,000 RP to guarantee one, making these skins a significant purchase.
