How to Lead a Restaurant in Nivalis Nights

Running a Nivalis Nights restaurant is the part of the game that keeps you up past curfew. Nivalis Nights, the cyberpunk life sim from ION LANDS and 505 Games, hands you Ramen Noir, a noodle stand that barely works, along with its former owner's heavy debt.
Our Nivalis Nights review found the business sim's depth in menu planning and staff shifts. The game launched on Steam on September 29, 2026, and Update #3 has already changed how managers run your venues.
Below, you'll find how Ramen Noir grows, who to hire first, when Nivalis Nights managers pay off, and how to keep the menu profitable.

Nivalis Nights Restaurant Guide Summary
Restaurant rating rises through discounts, free meals, and small talk, and each level adds perks.
Hire Nivalis Nights staff for a visible bottleneck: cooks for slow food, waiters for stacked orders.
Managers arrive at Venue Level 3, according to player guides. Since Update #3, their restock amounts follow an objective that appears below 10 units.
Small, reliable menus earn more when cash is tight.
How Does Ramen Noir Work in Nivalis Nights?
Ramen Noir is your first Nivalis Nights restaurant, a Meridian Market noodle stand you take over from Thaddeus, debt included. You buy ingredients, hire staff, set the menu, and arrange the kitchen yourself in first person.
Discounts, free meals, and chatting with customers raise the restaurant rating, and every level adds perks. Hiring a manager is one of them. Further in, the game opens up more restaurants, ramen bars, and nightclubs.
Noodle soup is the opening dish, and new recipes arrive through quests as you meet people. A new dish can bring extra ingredient costs and new equipment, so a new recipe isn't profitable by default.
Check the balance on the end-of-day report first. One player guide logged a day with 58 new customers and roughly four-star reviews that still closed 146 Lims in the red. On a day like that, hold off on new venues and check recent spending.
Building Your Nivalis Nights Staff

Your crew covers four jobs: cook, waiter, cleaner, and manager. Each worker has a skill level, a shift length, an hourly wage, and a happiness rating, and pay and hours both move that happiness. Hiring someone and giving them a role are separate steps. Check that each shift lines up with your opening hours.
Problem you see | Who to hire |
|---|---|
Food comes out slowly | Cook |
Orders pile up next to finished bowls | Waiter |
The floor never gets clean | Cleaner (one is usually enough) |
A community guide on Steam timed the noodle stand's rushes at around 08:00, 13:00 to 15:00, 19:00, and 21:00, covered by two cooks and about three waiters. Its author also swapped tables for cheap stools and fit about 11 along the bar, so waiters walk far less.
Want happy staff on a budget? The same guide gives each hire exactly the hours they asked for, which keeps happiness high at lower pay. Multi-skill generalists cost more, and the guide uses them sparingly.
When Should You Hire Nivalis Nights Managers?
Hire a manager once the option opens, which player guides place at Venue Level 3, and only with spare cash in the venue. Managers handle restocking, which cuts your grocery runs to Meridian Market.
At launch, managers overspent on restocks, ordered odd quantities, and bought only from vendors. We kept walking back to Ramen Noir just to check on ours. Update #3 went after the restock problems on October 5:
Update #3 change | What it means |
|---|---|
Restock amounts | Match the red Restock Ingredients objective, shown below 10 units |
Queued deliveries | Count toward the restock, so orders don't double up |
Skill experience | Comes from resolving complaints, ordering and delivering stock |
Delivery time | Falls from 10 seconds to 4 as the manager levels |
Before the patch, that Steam guide's author waited until roughly 1,000 Lims and kept about that much on hand to fund manager purchases. The figure predates Update #3.
Menu, Prices and Ingredients

A small, reliable menu earns more when cash is tight. Each dish needs its ingredients in that venue's kitchen plus the right equipment. Add dishes once restocking runs smoothly.
On pricing, the Steam guide raises a dish by 1 on days when every seat fills during every rush and drops it by 1 once empty seats show up. A four- or five-star rating gives you room to push prices higher over time.
Ingredients come from vendors or a greenhouse, where onions, potatoes, and meat start as seeds or pellets. Growing costs less, but harvesting means a slow morning run. Some food spoils, so buy what you'll sell and shop before the 2:00 AM curfew halts taxis and trains and switches off fast travel.

Final Words
The real goal of a Nivalis Nights restaurant is a day when Ramen Noir makes money without you walking in. Your early stools, shifts, and menu decide how soon it comes.
Before Update #3, managers burned cash on restocks. Now their orders follow the game's own restock objective, which makes Venue Level 3 the point where the business starts running itself.
ION LANDS says it has started adding player suggestions, so expect staff and manager behavior to keep changing. Read your balance every night, and adjust any community number to fit your own stand.
