Pragmata Best Weapons Only Hit Hard After Diana Hacks

Pragmata Best Weapons Only Hit Hard After Diana Hacks

The Pragmata best weapons list looks different once you accept one rule: Hugh's guns barely scratch armored robots until Diana hacks them open. Your Pragmata loadout is a set of tools for the window after a hack, and building it that way keeps the later sectors manageable.

This guide expands the weapons section of our Pragmata review, where that lesson came up the hard way. Primary Unit rounds do little to a closed bot, and limited weapons vanish once their ammo is gone.

Below, you'll find every weapon by slot, the loadouts that work at each stage, and the upgrades worth your Lunafilament first.

Pragmata Best Weapons Summary

Pragmata Best Weapons Summary
  • Diana hacking comes first. Most weapons do real damage only after a hack opens the target.

  • Hugh carries four slots: Primary, Attack, Tactical, and Defense. A Firmware Updater in Sector 3 adds a second Attack and Tactical slot.

  • Only Primary Units refill. Everything else breaks when its ammo runs out, so save it for open targets.

  • Sticky Bombs shrink the hacking grid and detonate when the hack completes, which makes them the strongest Tactical pick for most of the campaign.

  • A safe mid-game build: Pulse Carbine, Shockwave Gun or Charge Piercer, Sticky Bombs and Decoy Generator.

Why Hugh's Guns Need Diana To Matter

Hugh's damage depends on Diana opening an enemy first. On its official gameplay page, Capcom describes Diana's hack as a cursor path to a green goal node that forcibly disengages a bot's defenses. Blue nodes along the way raise the damage and extend how long the hack lasts.

Yellow nodes add special effects once the hack completes, such as lowering defenses or hacking several enemies at once. Capcom also states that the stronger weapons break once their ammo runs out. Only Primary Units refill on their own, so every other gun is a resource you spend.

So why carry heavy guns at all? They're the payoff. Diana works the grid, the robot opens, and Hugh dumps his limited rounds into the gap. The hack keeps going when you lower your gun or move away, and getting hit is what interrupts it.

Heat speeds the whole loop up. Overheated enemies go down much faster, and Homing Missiles raise heat on impact.

Every Pragmata Weapon by Slot

Pragmata weapons come from pickups across the station and Stamp Board rewards. A pickup only registers the schematic, so you still print the weapon at the Unit Printer in the Shelter, using Lunafilament, before it fills a slot.

Slot

Weapons

Where they come from

Primary

Grip Gun, Pulse Carbine

Grip Gun at the start, Pulse Carbine in Sector 3

Attack

Shockwave Gun, Charge Piercer, Photon Laser, Homing Missiles, Jackhammer

Sectors 1 to 4, Jackhammer post-game

Tactical

Stasis Net, Riot Blaster, Sticky Bombs, Code Generator, Hacking Mines

Sectors 1 to 3, plus Specialist and Director Stamp Boards

Defense

Decoy Generator, Impact Barrier, Drone Hive

Sectors 2 and 4, plus the Associate Stamp Board

The Attack slot carries your burst damage. Shockwave Gun hits hard up close and staggers, Charge Piercer punches through lines of enemies, and Photon Laser ramps up the longer its beam stays on a weak point.

Tactical picks decide how fast Diana works. Sticky Bombs shrink the grid, Code Generator adds extra nodes to it, and Hacking Mines hack any enemy that triggers them. Stasis Net and Riot Blaster handle crowds.

Decoy Generator or Drone Hive

Early on, Stasis Net holds groups in place so Diana can finish one hack at a time, and Shockwave Gun cashes in on the opening. Decoy Generator earns its slot from Sector 2 onward. A hologram of Hugh soaks up enemy attention, and fewer hits on Hugh means fewer broken hacks.

Sector 3 hands you Sticky Bombs, the Pulse Carbine,e and, after the mid-boss on the Central Lift, the Firmware Updater that opens your second Attack and Tactical slots. A smaller grid means faster opens and more limited ammo landing on exposed targets. The Pulse Carbine beats the Grip Gun on steady damage, though its recoil pulls left.

Boss fights run long, and Decoy Generator still helps there, even if bosses tear the hologram down faster. Homing Missiles keep the heat bar climbing, and Charge Piercer hits hard in each window. One popular Steam community tier list puts Multihack and Decode at the top of the yellow nodes and pairs Decode, which raises damage taken, with the Charge Piercer.

Upgrades and Lunafilament Priorities

Robots drop Lunafilament when they break, and the Unit Printer spends it on printing and upgrading weapons. Each weapon has its own upgrade track there, with levels that raise damage, ammo capacity, ty or a weapon-specific effect. Primary Units level up separately, at the Firmware Updater with Upgrade Components.

Decoy Generator works fine with few upgrades, so put most of your Lunafilament into Charge Piercer, whose charge time and damage levels pay off on every boss. At the Firmware Updater, Diana's Hacking line makes a strong first pick, since a stronger hack makes every gun hit harder.

Escape Hatches send Hugh back to the Shelter to heal, restock healing items, and change his loadout. Plan upgrade runs around the next hatch, and reprint broken weapons there before a big room.

FAQs About Pragmata Best Weapons

FAQs About Pragmata Best Weapons

What are the best weapons in Pragmata?

Sticky Bombs, Decoy Generator, Charge Piercer, and Shockwave Gun cover most fights. They speed up hacks, protect Diana's grid,d and hit hard once a target opens. Add the Pulse Carbine as your Primary as soon as Sector 3 drops it.

Do weapons break in Pragmata?

Yes. Every weapon outside the Primary slot disappears once its ammo is gone. You reprint it at the Unit Printer in the Shelter using Lunafilament.

How do you get more loadout slots in Pragmata?

Beat the mid-boss on the Central Lift in Sector 3 and use the Firmware Updater behind it. That opens a second Attack and a second Tactical slot, and you cycle them with a double tap on the D-pad, left for Attack and right for Tactical. Primary Units swap only in the Loadout menu before you enter a sector.

When do you get the Jackhammer in Pragmata?

The Jackhammer melee Attack Unit arrives only after you finish the story, so it's a second-run weapon.

Final Words

The biggest mistake in Pragmata is treating Hugh as the damage dealer and Diana as support. The game punishes that reading in every armored fight. The loadouts above put Diana's hack at the center and treat each gun as the payoff.

Limited ammo bites hardest in practice. A Charge Piercer emptied into closed armor stays gone until you reprint it at the Shelter, and the late sectors give you few spare moments to fix the mistake. Yellow node picks are less settled, and community rankings keep moving as players test boss combinations.

Try one fight with Sticky Bombs and Decoy Generator together before settling on anything else. If hacks start finishing faster and your heavy rounds stop going to waste, the build is working.
