Silver Pines System Requirements, Steam Deck and Platforms

Silver Pines System Requirements, Steam Deck and Platforms

Silver Pines system requirements set a low bar: a GTX 660 Ti, 8 GB of RAM, and 5 GB of storage clear the minimum on PC. Wych Elm's survival horror Metroidvania launched on October 8, 2026; it's Steam Deck Verified, and the Silver Pines platforms list covers every current console family.

Our Silver Pines review recommends it to fans of 1990s survival horror, with stiff combat and pre-fast-travel backtracking as the main reservations. The game ran smoothly and without crashes on our RTX 4080 rig.

Below, you'll find the official PC specs, Deck settings, every store, and the best length estimate available today.

Silver Pines System Requirements Summary

  • Silver Pines system requirements are low: an i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 660 Ti or R9 270X on 64-bit Windows 10.

  • Recommended steps up to an i5-6600 or Ryzen 5 1600, a GTX 770 or R9 3,80 and Windows 11.

  • Silver Pines Steam Deck support is verified. External controllers need a manual switch, and Steam Deck HQ picks High at 30 fps.

  • It's out on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2, with Steam and Epic on PC.

  • How long is Silver Pines? Roughly 10 to 14 hours, per Insider Gaming's estimate. We found no official figure.

The official Steam page lists both tiers, and each asks for 64-bit Windows and DirectX 12.

Every listed card launched between 2012 and 2015, and most dedicated gaming GPUs sold in recent years should clear the recommended tier.

Steam lists Windows only, with no native macOS or Linux build. A Team17 staffer pinned a Steam Community thread on demo performance issues, and it's the first place to look if your frame rate tanks.

In its launch-day review, The Sixth Axis reported crashes when alt-tabbing to take Steam screenshots, and one wiped a big chunk of progress. Save often and stay in the game window.

Silver Pines Steam Deck Verified, With One Catch

Silver Pines carries Valve's Steam Deck Verified badge, meaning the default controls and graphics settings work, the correct button icons show up and text stays readable on the small screen.

The game doesn't switch to an external controller on its own, so if you dock the Deck and pair a pad, you'll have to change the input manually.

Verified doesn't promise 60 fps, though. In its full review, Steam Deck HQ found the game often dropped below 60 on the Low preset, especially in town. It tested three targets:

Target

Settings (per Steam Deck HQ)

Result

30 fps

High preset, 90 Hz

Best balance, stable

40 fps

Mostly Medium, Low textures, 95% render scale

Smoother middle ground

60 fps

Low preset

Uneven frame times, missing effects

At High and 30 fps, an OLED Deck lasted about 4 to 4.5 hours per charge in the same test. The Sixth Axis called Deck performance solid for the most part.

English is the only voiced language. On Steam, the interface and subtitles come in ten languages, including French, German, Japanese, Russian and both Chinese scripts.

Guns have no crosshair on PC, and Steam Deck HQ called aiming difficult for that reason.

Neither Team17 nor Wych Elm has published console frame rate or resolution targets, and the PS5 and Switch 2 reviews we read left technical numbers out. If you play on console, frame rate is still a guess.

How Long Is Silver Pines?

Silver Pines takes roughly 10 to 14 hours on a standard run, per Insider Gaming. We couldn't find an official length from Wych Elm or Team17, or confirm a HowLongToBeat average at the time of writing.

That range depends on play speed, according to Insider Gaming, and the lowest difficulty can cut it to 8 to 10 hours. Completionists will probably need more time. Creative Bloq counts three endings and several difficulty settings, and The Sixth Axis flagged missable collectibles, so 100% likely means a second run.

Backtracking pads the clock too. Our review found the walking before you get fast travel tedious.

FAQs About Silver Pines System Requirements

Can my PC run Silver Pines?

Yes, if it matches or beats a GTX 660 Ti or Radeon R9 270X, an i5-4460 or Ryzen 3 1200, and 8 GB of RAM on 64-bit Windows 10.

Does Silver Pines run on Mac or Linux?

Steam lists Windows only. The Deck runs it through Valve's Proton layer, but desktop Linux support isn't official.

How much storage does Silver Pines need?

5 GB on PC and 5.5 GB on Switch 2.

Is Silver Pines multiplayer?

No. Steam lists it as single-player, and Nintendo's listing names one player.

Final Words

A rig that runs mid-2010s games will run Silver Pines, and the Deck plays it well once you accept 30 fps.

That 30 fps cap matters more than the Verified badge suggests. Chasing 60 on handheld means uneven frame times in town and losing some of the effects that make the horror land. We'd lock it at 30 and leave it there.

Console performance and a confirmed length are the two gaps left. Team17 hasn't published PS5, Xbox, or Switch figures yet. Console players who care about frame rate should wait for a technical breakdown.
