What Was the First Fortnite Collab?

The first Fortnite collab was the Avengers: Infinity War crossover, which went live on May 8, 2018. It added a limited-time mode where one player picked up the Infinity Gauntlet and turned into Thanos.

There were no Thanos skins to buy back then. The event was a game mode only, timed to the movie's theater run.

How Fortnite Collab Skins Are Sold

Most collab skins go straight to the Item Shop for V-Bucks. They rotate out after a limited time, so check the official Item Shop page for what's live today. Brand partners sell the same way, with Nike and Air Jordan pairs sold as Fortnite Kicks since November 2024.

Some partners take over a whole Battle Pass instead. The Simpsons mini-season, which started on November 1, 2025, put Homer, Marge, and Ned Flanders in its pass alongside Simpsons versions of Fishstick and Peely.

Epic's rules since Chapter 5 Season 4 in August 2024 let newer Battle Pass items return to the shop 18 months after a pass expires. Item Shop collab skins have no fixed return date.

One Piece went live with the Treasure Hunters mini-season on November 1, 2026. Portgas D.
