weapon case definition

Weapon Cases in Fortnite are special loot containers that provide players with access to high-quality weapons and items, as well as get a boost in XP during matches.  These cases may contain high-quality items of Rare, Epic, or Legendary rarity and modified versions of powerful weapons like the Striker AR, Ranger Pistol, or Reaper Sniper Rifle.

Introduced in Chapter 5 Season 1, weapon cases have become a key element in the game's loot system, providing players with powerful gear that can significantly impact their match performance.

How Does a Weapon Case Look Like in Fortnite?

Unlike standard loot chests, Weapon Cases have a distinct appearance. They are open containers, allowing players to see the high-quality weapon inside before deciding to loot it. This unique feature adds an element of strategic decision-making to the looting process. Weapon Cases often glow red and display various firearms, making them easily distinguishable in the game environment.

Where to Find Weapon Cases in Fortnite?

As of Chapter 5 Season 3, Fortnite Weapon Cases can be found in eight bunker locations on the map, with six randomly accessible in each match. These bunkers open when the third Storm Circle forms. Players can identify available bunkers by checking for Bunker Door markers on their map.

Additionally, four areas always have accessible Weapon Cases from the start of the game: Rebel's Roost, Slumberyard, Reclaimed Villa, and Sandy Steppes. These spots are prime landing locations due to their guaranteed high-quality loot.

To find Weapon Cases within these areas, look for The Underground symbol on the map and follow directional arrows on walls and objects. They're often located in control rooms with electronic equipment, identifiable by their red glow and weapon displays.

How to use Weapon Cases in Fortnite?

Unlike regular containers, Fortnite Weapon Cases let you see the item inside before interacting. This allows you to make strategic decisions about whether to take or not. To use a Weapon Case, approach the open case and press and hold the interact button. The weapon will then drop to the ground nearby. You can then choose to pick it up or leave it based on your inventory and tactical needs.
