How do Eggs Work in Adopt Me?

Eggs are the main way to get pets in Adopt Me, and the system has expanded a lot since pets were introduced in 2019. Many types of eggs have been added, including permanent, limited, and event categories, each featuring its own pet pool and rarity chances. To hatch an egg, you need to complete in-game tasks such as feeding, bathing, and putting pets to sleep, with standard Gumball Machine eggs needing six tasks completed before they hatch.

The Nursery stocks three permanent eggs with no purchase limit. The Cracked Egg costs 350 Bucks, the Pet Egg costs 600 Bucks, and the Royal Egg costs 1,450 Bucks, with each one offering progressively better odds at rare and legendary pets. The Retired Egg is also permanently available but sits behind the VIP room, which requires the 750 Robux VIP Gamepass to access. It costs 600 Bucks and contains pets from the older versions of the Cracked, Pet, and Royal eggs before Adopt Me refreshed those pools in July 2022.

Limited eggs are where most of the trading activity in the game originates. The Golden Egg unlocks at 660 Stars and guarantees a legendary pet upon hatching, while the Diamond Egg requires 660 Stars plus a previously obtained Golden Egg and also ensures a guaranteed legendary pet.

Rarest Eggs in Adopt Me

The Blue Egg and Pink Egg hold the title of rarest eggs in Adopt Me, and the story behind each one reflects just how early in the game's history they appeared. The Blue Egg came from a one-time quest involving a character named Burt and the Broken Egg, available before the full pets update even launched. The Pink Egg required players to travel back in time inside the Nursery and complete a quest for Sir Woofington for 100 Bucks. Neither egg has ever appeared in a shop or event since, and both are treated as priceless collector pieces that trade on offers only, usually involving multiple neon legendaries on the table.

Among Gumball Machine eggs, the Safari Egg ranks as the rarest Adopt Me egg due to its availability window of just 57 days, running from July 5 to August 31, 2019. The Giraffe locked inside it remains one of the most in-demand legendaries in the entire game, which keeps the Safari Egg at the top of the retired egg value list years after it left the machine. Safari Eggs for sale are genuinely uncommon to come across, and when they do appear, they tend to move quickly, given how few are left unhatched. The Mythic Egg belongs to a completely separate category. It was available in the Gumball Machine for a longer period than the earliest eggs, its legendary pool generates less demand compared to the Safari or Jungle Egg, and its overall trade value firmly positions it in the mid-tier range of retired eggs rather than near the top.

Retired Gumball Adopt Me Eggs, Legendary Pools and Trade Value

The Gumball Machine has been running a continuous rotation since 2019, with each new Adopt Me egg replacing the previous one on a fixed schedule, and every retired egg from that machine has a 3% legendary hatch rate.
