In this guide, we will take you through the steps to uninstall League of Legends from your computer.

Uninstalling LoL on Windows 

Before you begin uninstalling League of Legends, make sure that the game is not running. To do so, exit League of Legends and close the Riot client in the hidden icons section of the Windows taskbar. Open the hidden icons, right-click on the Riot client icon, and select "exit." 

Then, you can choose to uninstall League of Legends via the Settings or Control Panel, depending on which method is more convenient for you.

Using Settings to Uninstall League of Legends

To uninstall League of Legends on WIndowns by using settings, follow these steps:

Using Control Panel to Uninstall League

To uninstall League of Legends on Windows  using the control panel, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start button (Windows logo) in the bottom left corner of the taskbar and search for Control Panel.
  2. Click on the Control Panel app, and in the window, look for the category "Programs" and the "Uninstall a program" option below it. If you don't have this option, try looking for the "Programs and Features" option instead.
  3. Look through the list and find League of Legends. Click on it, and at the top of the list of programs, an Uninstall button will appear.
  4. After clicking this, a confirmation pop-up window will appear. Click "Uninstall" to confirm your decision
  5. Wait for the "Uninstall Successfully" notification. Once you get it, click "Done," and your process of uninstalling League of Legends is complete.

Uninstalling League of Legends on Mac

To completely uninstall League of Legends and the Riot on Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Close League of Legends and the Riot client completely.
  2. Open the Finder app and go to the "Applications" folder in the sidebar.
  3. Find League of Legends in the applications list.
  4. Drag the League of Legends icon to the Trash icon in the Dock to uninstall it.

If you have uninstalled League of Legends and need more space, you can also delete the additional game files from your drive. 

To delete additional League of Legends files on Windows, click on the File Explorer icon in the taskbar or the Windows Start menu to open File Explorer. Alternatively, you can use the Windows button + E shortcut to open it. Once File Explorer is open, navigate to the League of Legends installation folder, which is typically located at C:\Riot Games. Then, select the League of Legends folder, delete it, and empty the recycle bin to remove the files permanently.

If you're using a Mac, open Finder, and press Command + Shift + G to open the "Go to Folder" window. In the window, search for one of the following libraries: Caches, Preferences, or Saved Application Data. Drag the files or folders related to League of Legends to the trash, and then empty the trash to permanently delete them.
