Does BO7 Carry Over to MW4?
MW4 carry forward is simple this year, since so little of it moves. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 starts multiplayer progression from scratch, but your COD Points, two pre-order cosmetics, and most of your Warzone locker come with you. Read our MW4 multiplayer review.

Activision's MW4 Editions page confirms the Hunter Killer Operator Skin works in BO7, Warzone, and MW4. The same page lists the Gilded Pearl Weapon Camo Pack: Moonlit Pearl for digital pre-orders, and Gilded Ruin for earning 5,000 Skulls in a BO7 challenge. Both are ready in MW4 at launch.
Does BO7 carry over to MW4 in any bigger way? Press reports say no, and your weapon levels, camo grind, and Operator collection stay in BO7.
Do COD Points Carry Over to MW4?
Yes, COD Points carry over to MW4, but only on the platform where you bought them. Recent Call of Duty games have shared one balance for years, and Activision's COD Points support page confirms the platform rule for MW4. A PlayStation balance won't appear on Battle.net.
Items work differently. Anything you buy with COD Points is shared across all platforms linked to your Activision account, except platform exclusives. Battle Pass COD Points can only be spent on the platform where you earned them.
Upgrading within the same console family keeps your balance. A different platform family is where MW4 COD Points carry-over stops.

What Happens to Your BO7 Gear in Warzone
Your Warzone locker keeps far more. The Warzone Season 1 blog confirms that when Warzone moves to MW4 with Season 1, Operators, Operator Skins, and Weapon Blueprints from MWII, MWIII, BO6, and BO7 stay available, including items you earned or bought.
Warzone legacy weapons sit in the Legacy tab of the Loadout menu. Gunsmith and old custom loadouts don't work on them, but each legacy base weapon gets a five-attachment version through the Armory.
Camos stay behind. Activision corrected its post to say legacy weapon camos are not available in Warzone, so a finished BO7 camo grind won't come with your guns.
What to Do With Your BO7 Items and COD Points Now
Hold your 2XP tokens. Press reports say unspent tokens transfer to MW4, so saving them costs you nothing.
Check your platform before topping up COD Points, since the balance stays where you bought it.
Redeem the Hunter Killer Operator Skin if you pre-ordered digitally. The deadline is October 23, 2027.

Final Words
This year's carry forward splits your account in two: a clean slate in MW4 multiplayer, and a Warzone museum where your BO7 Operators and Blueprints live on without their camos.
The platform lock will catch the most players. COD Points bought on the wrong platform can't move, even though the items you buy with them can.
Until Activision posts a full MW4 carry forward FAQ, the 2XP token transfer and the BO7 reset rest on press reports. Your own inventory after the first login is the quickest proof either way.
