Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror game developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA. It was released on October 7, 2014, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Linux and macOS ports followed in 2015, with a Nintendo Switch version releasing in December 2019.

The game is set in 2137, fifteen years after the events of Ridley Scott's 1979 Alien. Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, learns that the flight recorder from her mother's ship, the Nostromo, has been recovered and is held aboard a space station called Sevastopol. Traveling there to retrieve it, she finds the station in violent collapse. Survivors have turned on each other, Working Joes androids have become dangerous, and a single Xenomorph is hunting everything aboard.

The game was designed to recreate the atmosphere and pacing of the original Alien film rather than the action-focused sequel. Players are consistently underpowered and under-resourced. Weapons exist, but direct confrontation is rarely a viable strategy. The Xenomorph cannot be killed and responds to light, movement, and sound, adapting its search behavior based on how the player acts throughout each encounter. Hiding in lockers, crawling through vents, and reading the Motion Tracker to gauge proximity are the primary survival tools.

Environmental design throughout Sevastopol is built around the retro-futuristic aesthetic of the 1979 film, with CRT monitors, physical buttons, and analogue technology throughout. The sound design and unpredictability of the Xenomorph AI were widely praised at and after release. A sequel, Alien: Isolation 2, was confirmed in development in 2024. Alien: Isolation holds a Metacritic score of 81 and a Very Positive rating on Steam.
