About Automobilista 2
Automobilista 2 is a racing simulation game developed and published by Reiza Studios, a Brazilian developer under the lead of Renato Simioni. It entered Steam Early Access on April 1, 2020, and reached its official 1.0 release on June 30, 2020, running on the Madness engine originally built by Slightly Mad Studios for the Project CARS series.
The game's car and track roster spans a wide range of racing disciplines, with a particular emphasis on Brazilian motorsports through licensed series including Stock Car Brazil and Copa Truck. Beyond that, formula racing cars across many different eras, retro touring cars, 1990s American open-wheel machines, GT3 vehicles, and karts round out the lineup. Players can select any date and time between the present and 1979, with the game automatically adjusting climate and seasonal conditions to match the chosen period across its historical and modern track configurations.
Automobilista 2 inherited the Seta tyre model from Project CARS 2, a physical tyre simulation modeling carcass, tread, and heat for realistic handling across a wide range of tyre types. LiveTrack 3.0 handles dynamic track surface conditions, simulating rubber buildup, heating and cooling, and rain and puddle formation based on track geometry, layering directly on top of the vehicle physics and force feedback improvements the studio made over its Project CARS 2 foundation.
Rules and regulations can be configured to emulate most major real-world racing series, with support for oval racing and Full Course Yellow conditions, and multiclass races can be built with a custom number of opponents from each vehicle class. VR support through SteamVR or Oculus PC is included, alongside triple-screen and full-motion racing simulator compatibility, and the game sends telemetry data to supported third-party hardware, including motion platforms and bass shakers.
Reiza Studios has committed to a long-term development cycle, delivering regular monthly updates adding new features, cars, and tracks well beyond the game's initial release, with a 2026 development roadmap already outlined for continued expansion.
