MW4 Weapons List: All 33 Launch Weapons and Classes

Modern Warfare 4 has 33 weapons at launch, spread across assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, LMGs, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, launchers, and melee. The roster includes 24 Primary Weapons, eight Secondary Weapons, and one dedicated melee weapon.

Before chasing the MW4 meta, check which weapons your current Player Level gives you access to. Some arrive with Create-a-Class; others sit much later in the progression track.

Below is the complete launch list, grouped by class, with the Multiplayer levels needed to select each weapon in a custom loadout.

MW4 Weapons Summary

  • 33 launch weapons fill nine classes: 24 Primary, eight Secondary, and one melee.

  • Create-a-Class becomes available at Player Level 4. Default Loadouts cover the opening levels.

  • The tables use Multiplayer Player Levels, separate from a gun's own Weapon Level.

  • Assault rifles have the largest selection, with eight weapons.

  • DMZ weapon access follows its own rules, including loot, Vendor purchases, and extracted Weapon Manuals.

Player Level vs Weapon Level

Player Level determines access to level-based Multiplayer content. Weapon Level tracks progression on an individual gun. These are separate numbers.

For example, reaching the required Player Level lets you select a weapon in a custom class. You then develop that weapon's own progression through use.

When checking a requirement, read which level it refers to. A high player rank doesn't automatically describe the attachment selection available on every gun.

How Weapon Access Works in DMZ

The Multiplayer access levels above don't replace DMZ's acquisition systems. In Hajin, you can recover weapons through looting, and the FOB provides purchase options.

Extracting a Weapon Manual adds its weapon type to your repeatable Gunsmith purchase options. Bringing home a looted gun gives you that individual weapon to use. Weapon leveling is shared across Multiplayer and DMZ, so attachment progression can carry across those modes.

Check your DMZ weapon access separately before planning a loadout around a gun you've been using in Multiplayer.

Optional store content sits alongside these progression systems. COD Points pay for eligible in-game content, such as bundles; check the included items before buying one for a particular weapon appearance.
