About Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It was released on November 4, 2016, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is the thirteenth main installment in the Call of Duty series and the first title developed under Infinity Ward's new three-year development cycle.

The campaign centers on a war for the Solar System, fought against the Settlement Defense Front, a hostile faction seeking to seize control from the United Nations Space Alliance. Players control Lieutenant Nick Reyes of the Special Combat Air Recon, who rises to command the warship Retribution following a devastating attack early in the story. Combat blends traditional ground-based Call of Duty gunplay with zero-gravity space combat, flown aboard a customizable transforming fighter craft named the Jackal.

Multiplayer introduces a new Combat Rig system, replacing the traditional class-based loadout structure with six distinct Rigs, each built around a different combat style and set of unique abilities. Players also join one of four Mission Teams, unlocking team-specific calling cards, camos, emblems, and weapons as they progress. The momentum-based movement system carried over from previous entries remains in place, supporting wall-running and boost-jumping across vertically designed maps.

Zombies in Spaceland is the game's cooperative Zombies mode, set in a fictional 1980s amusement park overrun by the undead. It introduces its own distinct visual style, characters, and progression systems separate from both the campaign and multiplayer.

Players who purchase the Legacy or Digital Deluxe editions receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a high-definition remaster of 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare developed by Raven Software, bundled as additional content alongside the base game. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare holds a Metacritic score of 73 and a Mixed rating on Steam.
