Set in the fallen holy city of Gildenarch, now overrun by demons, undead, vampires, and Hellgrowth abominations, players take on the role of a Nephilim, a human-angel hybrid created by the Order of the Crimson Moon and sent in as humanity's last line of defence. Combat draws heavily from Souls-inspired melee design, built around double-handed weapons, shields, and supernatural Weapon Arts, with temporary angelic transformations available to unleash devastating holy attacks against tougher enemies.
The game is structured around repeatable, run-based missions through Gildenarch's districts, with successful runs unlocking new missions, challenge modifiers, gear Boons, and permanent skill upgrades. Between runs, players return to the Sanctus Clypeus Church, a home base hub for interacting with NPCs, managing permanent gear upgrades, and planning strikes using the War Table. Dynamic difficulty scaling lets players adjust the challenge to their skill level, with higher difficulties offering greater rewards.
