Description
In Dead Space™ 2, you join Isaac Clarke, the Systems Engineer from Dead Space, as he wakes up three years after the horrific events on the USG Ishimura. The Ishimura was a Planetcracker-class starship besieged by grotesque reanimations of its dead crew, known as “Necromorphs.”
After unearthing a strange artifact known as the Marker, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a giant space station in orbit around Saturn. Unable to remember how he got here and plagued with demented visions of his dead girlfriend Nicole, he must survive another nightmarish outbreak of Necromorphs as he fights his way towards an answer he hopes will end all the chaos.

About Dead Space 2
Dead Space 2 is a survival horror game developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. It was released on January 25, 2011, for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Pre-production began in 2008, immediately after the original Dead Space, during which EA rebranded developer EA Redwood Shores into Visceral Games, restructuring it as a dedicated genre studio working in parallel on this game and Dante's Inferno.
Three years after the events aboard the USG Ishimura, Isaac Clarke wakes from a coma aboard the Sprawl, a massive space station built into the remains of Titan. Confused and disoriented, Isaac finds himself in the middle of a fresh Necromorph outbreak while also battling worsening dementia caused by his prolonged exposure to the alien Markers, with hallucinations of his late partner Nicole recurring throughout the story. Unlike the mostly silent protagonist of the first game, Isaac speaks and shows a wider emotional range here, leaning further into his role as an engineer and technician rather than a soldier.
Gameplay expands significantly on the original, with fully rotatable 360-degree movement in zero-gravity sections using thruster-equipped hover modules, letting Isaac move and fire freely in any direction. Kinesis, Isaac's telekinetic tool, is faster than before and now allows impaling enemies with pointed objects picked up from the environment. Hacking minigames gate access to certain areas, and the entire campaign runs without loading screens or tram stop breaks, keeping the story fully linear and uninterrupted from start to finish.
For the first time in the series, Dead Space 2 includes a competitive multiplayer mode, developed as a deliberate compromise between fan requests and EA's push to broaden the series' appeal. Two teams of up to four players face off, one side playing Sprawl security officers working through objectives like arming explosives, the other controlling various Necromorph types trying to stop them.
Dead Space 2 holds a Metacritic score of 87. Dead Space 2 is available through EA Play, included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
