FPS (Frames Per Second), means the amount of frames that are displayed in one second of gameplay. FPS are crucial in every game, but in League specifically because of the game's competitive nature.
When you are in the game you can press "Ctrl + F" to show the FPS.
The FPS varies on the computer's specifications and graphics settings. Pro players often adjust these settings to lower the graphics and boost the performance, and we recommend doing so in custom matches, as being AFK doesn't impact others or your account safety there. This is particularly important if you are experiencing low FPS. Otherwise, you won't able to respond in time to enemy abilities, engages, or smiting the objectives like Dragon or Baron Nashor.
What causes Low FPS
There are couple of things that causes low FPS in LoL, and we have created a list of them below.
- Not meeting Minimum Requirement's: If your specs are below Minimum Requirements, that can cause a significant drop in FPS. Keeping drivers up to date is essential for optimal gaming and graphical performance.

- Full Hard Drive: If the hard drive is nearly full or heavily fragmented, it can strongly affect the performance of LoL
- Network Issues: For online games, network lag can sometimes be mistaken for low FPS, especially if the game relies on server responses for rendering elements.
