DiRT 4 also features a game-changing system called Your Stage; an innovative rally route creation tool that allows you to produce an almost-infinite number of unique stages at the press of a button. You choose your location and set the route parameters, then Your Stage does the hard work to create a unique rally stage that you can race, share with your friends and then challenge them to beat your time. Your Stage allows experienced rally players to create longer, more technical routes, whilst newcomers can create simpler shorter routes as they hone their skills.
With DiRT 4, Codemasters have sought to combine the levels of thrill and realism from last year’s DiRT Rally with the fearless excitement, accessibility and adrenaline-fuelled races previously seen in its critically acclaimed prequels DiRT 2 and DiRT 3.

About DiRT 4
DiRT 4 is a rally racing simulation game developed and published by Codemasters. It was released on June 9, 2017, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with Linux and macOS versions ported by Feral Interactive following in March 2019. It's part of the broader Colin McRae Rally lineage, developed in consultation with professional rally drivers Kris Meeke and Petter Solberg on the game's handling model, along with co-driver and commentator voice work from Nicky Grist and Jen Horsey.
The game centers entirely on rallying rather than the more varied event types found in earlier DiRT titles, with World Rally Cars and World Rally Championship content notably absent. Rally stages are split across five real-world locations: Fitzroy in Australia, Tarragona in Spain, Michigan in the United States, Värmland in Sweden, and Powys in Wales, with players competing across timed stage events on both tarmac and off-road surfaces in a range of weather conditions. The car roster spans multiple competition classes and time periods, from 1980s Group B machines through Group A and Group N cars from the 1990s and 2000s to modern Group R vehicles.
Your Stage is the headline new system introduced in DiRT 4, procedurally generating rally stages based on player-defined settings and parameters, offering effectively unlimited stage variety beyond the game's set of handcrafted routes. Audio was a major development focus, with the team recording over 200 real cars going back to 2009, capturing engine, intake, exhaust, transmission, and cabin noise directly on-track rather than on a dyno to preserve authentic full-rev-range sound across the throttle range. DiRT 4 holds a Metacritic score of 78.
