The game is set in Duckov, a world on the verge of collapse. Players take on the role of a duck who wakes up with nothing and must build their way up from scratch. The goal is to survive long enough to gather the resources needed to construct a spaceship and escape the planet. Progress is tied to scavenging runs across five procedurally generated maps, where the layout, loot, and enemy placement shift with each visit.

The extraction mechanic sits at the core of how the game works. Players enter a map carrying whatever gear they choose, search for resources and better equipment, and must extract before being killed. Getting knocked down before escaping means losing the items carried into that run, adding real stakes to every decision about how deep to push and what to risk.

Between runs, players return to their base and use collected resources to build new facilities, upgrade equipment, and unlock further progression. Weapon customization covers over 50 weapons with various modifications, and the game supports Steam Workshop for community-created content. Six preset difficulty modes range from Scavenge to Rage, with a custom difficulty option also available.
