Description

Become an outlaw in the Wild West. Moonlight wakes you up in a dirty jail cell - the crooked sheriff caught you again! You vow to escape and pull off one last heist before disappearing completely.

The Sheriff's Office

You are trapped in the jail cell within the sheriff's office. Find your way out from behind bars with the help of previous occupants before you take on the challenges of the office itself.

The Saloon

Being a brazen outlaw is your way of life, so naturally, after escaping from jail, you will go to relax at the local saloon. The card game stakes are high, and the piano's music makes you dance! You could even get your beard trimmed at the barbers.

The Bank and the Post Office

The huge train station offers postal and banking services, which you plan to make us of. Figure out how letters and packages travel across the country and learn the ways of the bankers before you unlock the vault and escape.

The Train

Your successful bank heist has bought a train ticket in the elite train car, which will take you far away. The other passenger's stories are told through their luggage, but there is one last mystery: the train car itself!

New soundtrack and outfits

Four new tracks accompany each room, and new cowboy outfits await! Choose between a sleek sheriff look or a rugged outlaw feel.

About Escape Simulator

Escape Simulator is a first-person escape room puzzler developed and published by Pine Studio, a Croatian indie studio. It was released on October 19, 2021, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, following just under two years of development. The game sold 50,000 units within its first week and reached two million units sold within seven months of release, with a VR version added in summer 2023.

Based on the concept of real-life escape rooms, the game challenges players to explore locked, interactive spaces, taking, inspecting, and manipulating objects to uncover the solutions needed to break out. Scenarios span a wide variety of settings, including ancient Egyptian tombs with ingenious mechanical locks, an adrift space shuttle requiring players to hack its systems, and the oddball Victorian library of Edgewood Mansion, filled with cryptic notes and hidden clues. Each room is built around its own distinct theme and puzzle logic, encouraging observation and experimentation over trial and error.

The game can be played entirely solo or in online co-op with up to ten players, letting groups work together to crack puzzles faster or divide their attention across different parts of a room. An included Room Editor lets players design and share their own custom escape rooms, and the community has built more than 3,000 rooms since launch, giving the game an extensive library of content well beyond the official offerings. Five paid DLC packs, Steampunk, Wild West, Magic, Mayan, and Spy, have been released since launch, each adding a set of new themed rooms, alongside free content updates including the Leonardo's Workshop room.

A sequel, Escape Simulator 2, released on October 27, 2025, expanded co-op support to eight players and introduced an upgraded Room Editor 2.0, developed with input from real-life escape room designers and the community's own top room builders. The original Escape Simulator holds a Metacritic score of 82 and a Very Positive rating on Steam.

Escape Simulator is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Premium. If you are already a subscriber, you can access it directly through your membership. If you do not have Game Pass, GameBoost offers Xbox Game Pass gift cards as an alternative way to get started.
