BPM RUSH tasks players to battle waves of enemies to music with a steadily increasing BPM or beats per minute. As you defeat each wave and tackle toughened-up new foes, the BPM will speed up to the next level, up to a whopping 200 BPM in the final stages!
Power Up! Tower Up! is a twist on the Rhythm Tower mode that players unlock after their first playthrough. You’ll be climbing up floors and defeating waves of enemies, but this time you’ll be powering up a downgraded Chai with randomized Upgrades!
The Arcade Challenge! Update! also contains additional content for players to earn through challenges and discover in-game, including poses for Photo Mode, t-shirts for Chai, Photo Mode stickers, extra outfits and even Special Attacks starring CNMN and Smidge, everybody's favorite mechanical friends.

About Hi-Fi Rush
Hi-Fi Rush is a real-time third-person hack and slash rhythm-action game developed by Tango Gameworks, the studio behind The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo. It was conceptualized by a smaller internal team back in 2017 as Tango was finishing The Evil Within 2, driven by a desire to branch the studio out of the survival horror genre it had become synonymous with. Kept completely secret through development due to concerns over how the tonal shift would land with players, the game was simultaneously announced and released on January 25, 2023, for PC via Steam and Xbox Series X/S, originally published by Bethesda Softworks. Publishing rights moved to Krafton in November 2025.
Chai has his portable music player accidentally fused directly into his chest during an experimental cybernetics procedure at Vandelay Technologies, giving him the ability to sense and move to the rhythm of the world around him. Alongside a ragtag team of allies he meets along the way, Chai rebels against the megacorporation responsible for his condition, fighting through stylish, music-synced combat encounters where every hit, dodge, and environmental interaction lines up to the beat of the game's soundtrack. The game's presentation draws heavily on the visual style of director Edgar Wright's films, and features licensed music from bands including The Black Keys and Nine Inch Nails alongside its original score.
Combat and platforming both revolve around staying in rhythm with the music, with attacks landing harder and combos flowing more smoothly the closer players stay to the beat. A free Arcade Challenge update added two new game modes, including BPM RUSH, which pits players against escalating waves of enemies as the song's tempo climbs to a peak of 200 beats per minute in its final stages. Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM was removed from the game in a January 2026 patch.
Hi-Fi Rush holds a Metacritic score of 90. Hi-Fi Rush is available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Game Pass Premium.
