Players travel through different eras of Eterra's history, uncovering the origins of the threat and working to prevent the destruction of the future. The campaign spans multiple timelines, each with its own locations, enemies, and story context.
Character building is the core of Last Epoch's design. Players start by choosing one of five base classes and, through the campaign, commit to one of three Mastery Classes that open up more specialized abilities and build directions. Every skill has its own augment tree with multiple branching paths, giving players deep control over how individual abilities function. A single skill can perform in fundamentally different ways depending on which route is taken through its tree.
