The environment is full of clues and possibilities for imaginative children to exploit. Low’s arrows can reach high targets, cut through ropes, or down flying enemies, and Alone’s wrench is just the thing for crushing stunned enemies, smashing through barriers, or manipulating the workings of massive machines.
No matter where you go, the Nowhere is home to horrific monsters. These Residents won't hesitate to go out of their way to capture any intrusive little Visitors that draw their attention. About Little Nightmares III
Little Nightmares III is a co-op puzzle-platform horror adventure developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released on October 10, 2025, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions arriving the same day. It's the third entry in the series, and the first developed solely by Supermassive Games after original creator Tarsier Studios confirmed in 2021 that Little Nightmares II would be their final entry, following their acquisition by Embracer Group.
The story follows Low and Alone, two best friends trapped within the Spiral, a cluster of unsettling locations that make up a realm known as the Nowhere. Each carries their own signature tool: Low wields a bow capable of hitting distant targets, cutting ropes, and downing flying enemies, while Alone uses a wrench to crush stunned enemies, smash through barriers, and manipulate machinery. The pair depend on these items and on each other to sneak through hidden passages, boost one another over obstacles, and survive whatever the Nowhere throws at them as they push deeper into increasingly dangerous and disturbing locations, including a decrepit funfair called the Carnevale.
For the first time in the franchise, the game supports two-player online co-op, a direct response to how much the previous two entries leaned on cooperative-feeling mechanics without actually offering multiplayer. Players who prefer to go it alone can still experience the full game solo, with an AI companion controlling the second character throughout.
Little Nightmares III received mixed reviews at launch, with many critics considering it a step down from its predecessors, though the franchise as a whole has sold over 20 million units since the original 2017 release. A story expansion called The Backstage, sending players deeper into the Carnevale, released on June 12, 2026.
