About Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game developed and published by Capcom. It was released on June 2, 2023, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version following on June 5, 2025. It is the seventh main installment in the Street Fighter series and was built on Capcom's RE Engine.
The game launched with a roster of 18 fighters, mixing returning series icons like Ryu and Chun-Li with new characters including Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly, each redesigned for the new entry with cinematic Super Arts. The core content spans three distinct modes. World Tour is a single-player story mode that lets players explore a fully open Metro City as a custom-created fighter, training under series characters and building a personal fighting style. Fighting Ground covers the traditional Street Fighter experience, including versus matches, arcade mode, and ranked online play. Battle Hub is a virtual arcade space where players control an avatar to mingle, watch matches, and queue into games with other online players.
Combat is built around the Drive Gauge system, a shared meter spent on mechanics including Drive Impact, a high-commitment armored attack, Drive Parry for precise defensive counters, and Drive Rush for closing distance and extending combos. Each character retains up to three Super Arts, stored as Super Gauge stocks that scale in cost based on the move's level.
Street Fighter 6 supports full crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, alongside rollback netcode for stable online matches. A real-time commentary system adds a tournament broadcast feel to matches, and three separate control schemes, Classic, Modern, and Dynamic, accommodate different skill levels and preferences.
Post-launch content has continued through yearly character passes, with the Years 1-2 Fighters Edition bundling the first two years of DLC characters released in June 2025. Street Fighter 6 holds a Metacritic score of 92 and has a Very Positive rating on Steam.

World Tour is Street Fighter 6's single-player story mode. Players create a custom fighter and explore an open version of Metro City, training under series characters, taking on side activities, and building a personal fighting style using moves learned from different masters throughout the story.
Yes. Street Fighter 6 supports full crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Players on any of these platforms can match against each other online without restrictions, and the game uses rollback netcode for more stable connections during online matches.
Street Fighter 6 launched with 18 playable fighters in June 2023. The roster has expanded since launch through yearly DLC character passes, with additional fighters added each season. The base purchase includes the original 18-character roster; additional characters from post-launch passes are sold separately or bundled into editions like the Years 1-2 Fighters Edition.
Street Fighter 6 offers three control schemes: Classic, which uses the traditional six-button layout familiar to longtime series players; Modern, a simplified one-button special move system aimed at newer players; and Dynamic, an auto-combo-focused scheme designed for the most accessible entry point into the game.
