About Teardown

Teardown is a physics-based sandbox and heist game developed and published by Tuxedo Labs. It entered Steam Early Access on October 29, 2020, and was released fully on April 21, 2022. Console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S followed on November 15, 2023.

The game follows the owner of a struggling demolition company who begins accepting jobs from questionable clients to stay afloat. What starts as routine work pulls the player into a chain of assignments involving revenge, insurance fraud, and increasingly dangerous situations.

All environments in Teardown are built from voxels and are fully destructible. Players can smash through walls, collapse structures, ignite fires, and reshape a level however they choose before a mission begins. The gameplay loop is split into two phases. In the planning phase, players move freely through the level and set up the fastest possible route, placing tools and positioning vehicles. Once ready, they trigger the mission and must collect all targets before the alarm system locks down. The timer starts the moment the first target is grabbed, so every second of preparation carries weight.

Available tools include sledgehammers, explosives, a fire hose, a plank gun for building improvised bridges, and a range of drivable vehicles.
